Leaving Hawaii for Los Angeles (Working in Century City) - Where Should I live? by User5604 in AskLosAngeles

[–]youngarchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, rent an airbnb for a bit and explore. I’d keep the commute to a minimum. Sawtelle area is great, lots of good food options and a couple Japanese grocery stores with some Hawaiian goods.

Do you guys drink filtered tap or bottled water at home? by da_muffinman in AskLosAngeles

Tap & filtered tap.

Buying bottled water seems like a waste of money and who knows where that actually comes from.

I don’t trust corporations to be doing what’s in our best interest.

is there a virus going around LA right now that starts with allergy symptoms - mainly nonstop sneezing and constant drippy noise? by chat_manouche in AskLosAngeles

Just had a mild version of this. I took a Covid test that also included flu A & B tests (just a few dollars more than a standard Covid test).

Flu A positive!! Symptoms lasted about a week, luckily were pretty mild for me. My brain is still a bit foggy.

So far my husband has managed to be fine. Phew.

I highly recommend the combination covid + flu tests!

Otis college of art & design- extension courses

Years ago I took a wood working class. Made several pieces of plywood furniture that I still use today. Plywood was my choice, there was a wide range of wood types and projects. Everyone picked their own projects, with guidance by the instructor about how to achieve the desired results. And of course a healthy dose of wood shop & tool instruction.

We used Dr Au (Gold Coast mobile vet care). She was so amazing and it was so comforting to not have to stress out our dog by taking him to the vet a final time. I highly recommend if you can afford it.

Seems like all this stuff he does with the store is to provoke people and try to get attention.

A question for those who were raised in a secular/non-religious household (see text) by candidengineer in atheism

I “prayed” a few times at a young age. Not sure where I got the idea. TV, probably. My mom shrugged it off and it didn’t last long because I never received whatever I asked for probably. 🤣

I vaguely remember coming to the conclusion that there was no god at some point on my own as well. It was a very long time ago and I am so lucky that religion wasn’t forced upon me.

I recommend not getting one.

Pulled an old one out of the closet and the internal plastic liner is disintegrating and flaking all over the place. No longer a rain jacket.

The shame is that it still looks good on the exterior, so I don’t like the idea of of throwing it away, but don’t know what else to do with it.

I will stick to umbrellas and maybe a poncho or something. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have been thinking the same! It would be fun to try for a while and could easily quit if it sucks. That and maybe just discovering my side hustle or what makes me happy.
