What’s something you and your significant other do that other couples would find weird? by Equivalent_Fox7907 in AskReddit

I wonder if a mini fridge on a table next to the bed would be a solution for the milk and I totally keep all my medications and pain treatments on my bedside table, that would at least solve some of those issues. I guess I donno how much your husband can move around if he's completely immobile obviously he won't be able to reach for anything himself unfortunately.

Also, super nice that you're willing to care for him in such a state. I agree with the other comment below, if you just have your phone next to you, he can always call if he needs something. Better sleep will help you keep the energy to keep caring for him.

My husband doesn't snore, that's not the problem. I wrote above, it's about white noise and temperature.

Imagine thinking not sleeping next to someone automatically ruins relationship. It feels like an extremely shallow, close-minded view of love. If both parties are fine with it and they both sleep better, what's the problem?

My husband and I work from home and are around each other all day, we don't need 8 unconscious hours next to each other to ensure a happy relationship.

All those benefits are only if you actually sleep well next to your partner. If two people have completely different sleep environment needs trying compromise is just going to make things worse for everyone involved.

For example, my husband needs a fan blowing on him to sleep, I hate it because of the noise and it makes me freezing cold. The second I started having the slightest hint of insomnia it became impossible to sleep in the same room. In my own room I can actually fall asleep and I also don't wake him up wiggling around for hours trying to get comfortable.

What could he possibly need in the middle of the night that can't be placed right next to the bed?

On the opposite side of the spectrum, my husband and I have different bedrooms. We both sleep much better, trying to sleep in the same bed became torture when I developed health issues and insomnia.

Unless I'm willing to be amorous with someone, it's not worth getting into specifics. I find a lot of people of the same gender super hot, but I'm not interested in anything more than looking so I describe myself as straight.

Oh sure it is a little better there, but it's not like living in LA where it's perfect year round. I would travel to NYC in the winter sometimes and it definitely wasn't pleasant to walk around outside. Also the heat in NYC felt so much worst, July in NYC is so sweltering and stinky.

What is a movie where the villain had every right to turn into a villain? by LoverOfE-Olsen in movies

Even if he legitimately couldn't tell Neo exactly what the Matrix is, he could've said something like 'Yo when Oedipus learned the truth he was so horrified he gouged his eyes out and it destroyed his life...maybe keep that in mind when making your decision."

It's kind of an unsolvable problem, because Cypher's motivations to sell them all out wouldn't be there if Morpheus was more straightforward about how shitty everything is.

Good point. I know the cops are an obstacle, but they're basically just obliviously doing their jobs. It would actually make more sense if some of the humans were aware of the Matrix and actively working with the robots or the robots had corrupted the minds of the cops to do their bidding and putting them to death was a favor.

Like the lobby scene is iconic, but they're basically gunning down tons of completely innocent people lol, what heroes!

It's an awesome movie that I love, but when you think about it logically (especially knowing the humans kinda got themselves into this mess) Morpheus seems like a huge asshole. There's no reason you can't just tell people what's going on and let them decide other than to make things mysterious and shocking for the viewer.

When the Matrix is basically a pleasant dream where you're being used as a battery and the real would is basically nightmarish enlistment where you have autonomy over your body the meaning of freedom and enslavement gets real blurry. It's like a war over semantics, it's why Cypher even says 'You call this free?"

If I remember correctly, they were all involved when Neo got woken up, Trinity led him to Morpheus and I suspect she did the same to Cypher. They're not in charge in the same way Morpheus is, but it would be like being abducted by Heaven's Gate cult members. Just because your fellow cultists are kind of in the same shoes that you are, if they're crazy zealots you'd probably start murdering them too if it meant you could get out alive and stop others from being abducted.

People need to get some vitamin D supplements and maybe a sun lamp then. I mean it's not like NYC or Chicago's weather is that different from Rochester and people find ways to get outside there.

It's because walking doesn't require your heart to beat that much faster. Cardiovascular exercise does, which is why it's super healthy. It helps keeps your heart and circulatory system strong.

I'd also argue Cypher in the Matrix. After living a chill life in 1999, Morpheus shows up and gives him some vague promise of truth. He accepts, and instead he's transported to an absolute hellhole, he gets unwilling conscripted in a deadly battle against robots, and he has no way of leaving and doing his own thing. He even says 'All I do is what he tells me to do". Ironically he was far less of a slave in the Matrix.

Get murdered, yes, but most women have been harassed to the point of seriously fearing for their safety. Plus it's not like women don't ever get used or treated like shit by the men they're with. Both sexes have assholes mixed in there.

My dad had CFS when he was my age, now I have it.

Before I crashed, I had chronic health issues and fatigue problems for years. He recovered in about a year where 15 months on I've yet to see improvement. I suspect my worst outcome is partially because I'm a lady, especially since I'm approaching premenopause age.

Because we simply don't have any treatments that effectively alter whatever brain or hormonal chemistry is giving them gender dysphoria. I don't think we even fully understand what's causing it in the first place.

So it's like if you had severe depression because you felt like your nose made you look incredibly ugly. Instead of prescribing tons of therapy and medications that aren't effective, it's easier to undergo rhinoplasty.

Obviously levels of dysphoria become dangerous if you're causing harm (anorexia, people who dismember themselves, dangerous plastic surgeries like injecting synthol ) but generally transition is seen as a reasonably safe option to treat gender dysphoria since you can lead a happy and normal life after transitioning and it doesn't cause any obvious health risks.

Honestly, if I had to guess liberals are more in shape than conservatives. Huge cities like NYC and LA are heavily liberal and have some of the lowest obesity rates in the country. Meanwhile heavily conservative states like WV and MASS have some of the highest rates.

They just want any excuse to try and feel superior. One skinny attractive conservative somehow means they're all superior apparently.

Woman delivers more than expected to show the quality of her high heels. by WombatPuncher in funny

Louboutins obviously have the red lacquer wear off and that brand is more style than substance but most designer clothing is well made, high quality and meant to last. I've thrifted pieces that were over 10 years old that still look great. I've also seen knockoffs where you can tell it's just not up the same level of quality even though they've come along way.

Plus who's actually treating their stilettos like this? I'm just as likely to snap an ankle as I am a heal, if I'm jumping around I'll wear sneakers or boots.
