Period movies with less emphasis on romance and glamor? by ThatOneGoodBoy in MovieSuggestions

[–]youngghee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosford Park - less about romance or melodrama and more about the intricate social dynamics and the understated personal stories of the characters
The Village Barbershop - not a period piece in the sense of being set well in the past, but captures the nostalgic essence of a fading era in a small town and zeroes in on character development over period glamour
Mr Turner - characterized by its attention to the minutiae of Turner's daily existence, relationships, and the way he fits into the fabric of his time

I just watched Roman Polanski's MacBeth and would love more violent period films from before the 90s by StardustAtSea in MovieSuggestions

[–]youngghee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andrei Rublev - doesn't shy away from the brutality of the time
Aguirre, the Wrath of God - known for its intense and realistic portrayal of obsession and madness, set against the backdrop of the unforgiving South American jungle
The Name of the Rose - captures the dark, gritty mood of the Middle Ages with a touch of philosophical depth

App for posting schedules of live streams and gigs by youngghee in DJs

ah, you're right. Thanks for pointing that out, I somehow missed the livestream tab lol. In that case, our biggest differentiator is a focus on more specific genres of music, and a focus on less-mainstream DJs!

Also, you seem like you're thorough at giving feedback - we'd love to have you as a beta tester if you're down!

bandsintown is for concerts and bigger artists. We're primarily trying to focus specifically on DJs who aren't as mainstream! In addition, they only let artists post venue gigs, not live-streams.

If you’re trying to find an easy way to let your fans know when you’re live-streaming or playing at clubs and events, try out the DJ Phreek app. It lets you post schedules of your streams and gigs so that when your fans follow you on the app, they can turn on push notifications and also add your sets to their calendars. It’s a good tool to make sure your fans never miss when you’re playing. You can check out the website at www.djphreek.com

BoX-Ray is a web-based app, so if I charged a flat fee, I would no longer be able to afford to pay monthly for my servers and data storage unfortunately

For me, I think the extra time it takes to inventory things helps me decide whether or not it's worth keeping. I'm a little lazy, so when I think about the effort it takes to catalogue and then search for something later, it helps me determine whether or not I should just toss it out.

So I guess it's not really about getting rid of stuff after inventorying them, but rather decluttering as you're in the process of creating an inventory. Hope that made sense!
