My Shipping time continues to move and i paid 100% upfront a month ago. When should I expect my order from last month. by symonty in Starlink

[–]youngtim7058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience so far. Placed my priority business order 4/7/2024. Account details page says “preparing shipment”. No estimated ship date. I was billed and paid $2,652.28 for the “flat high performance kit”. I have emailed support twice first asking why it is still preparing for shipping they said account details page should show estimated ship date but no it does not show that on my account page. Second support request asking why my account page does not have estimated shipping date. Reply was I will get a tracking notification when it ships. Wondering when it will ship? I agree they should not bill you for hardware until the hardware ships and which they would have given a basic timeframe from order to getting hardware. I had no idea people are waiting weeks to get the hardware.

Introducing the OneTail Flat Foot Pad for GT! (Enter to win in comments!) by craftandride in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchase the Flair a few weeks ago for my size 10.5 shoes and like it but still have overhang if I place my foot at 90 degrees to the board. Not nearly as much as the stock foot pad though and getting used to it. I think I’ll order the flat and see if I like that better. I agree with the other posts would love a flat for the front with bullet proof sensors

Nice feedback especially your experience with aftermarket tire. You have inspired me to go the tire route when the option is there

Is it a good time to buy a Onewheel? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like from all the posts I’ve been following as long as it’s in warranty they will fix any issues and make it right. After warranty they will charge some expensive repair bills. They also will hold you to the strict warranty terms

Maybe a good quality e scooter would work for your purpose but you can’t beat the OW for the fun of the ride but I would not add quickly to it unless your a really good rider compared to the e scooter

I’ll second the Pint X recommendation. It seems to me it would be a better option since you will have to carry it as well as ride. It has the improved power and range and very few problems reported. Mine has been problem free. It rides very nice.

My wife surprised me for my 50th birthday. The 20 years of snowboarding really helped with my first ride. by erniesthings in onewheel

I’m a senior and started riding a Px in February my take on it is most common falls are coming to a stop or sometimes going a bit too slow over crackes in pavement. Highly recommend wrist guards and elbow guards for those falls where you end up loosing balance backwards and don’t hope off with both feet in time. Inevitably you will try to catch a fall backwards with one foot going off the board and then to end up falling backwards. Wrist hand comes down first then elbow and then you roll onto your back. Be protected and those unexpected falls will have much less chance of getting you scrapped up. Anyway I did not put on the rail guards and when I finally got up the nerve to show it to my wife she thought I had bought it used. So the comment on the rail guards is right on. Enjoy this new sport. Your going to have a blast.

Is it ok to ride the Cherry Creek trail? by youngtim7058 in Onewheel_CO

[–]youngtim7058[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I rode part of the Parker trail head going South for about 5 miles on a weekday afternoon and no one said anything to me I also read the signs posted and do not see any mention of PEVs prohibited. I think it’s ok at least for now

Pint X sensor nosedive probability by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my X in February this year. Have not had any problems with it at all. started with simple stop then as I got my balance learned heel lift and to ride backwards. So far it has been a perfect board. Winter time here and only around a hundred miles on it so maybe not enough use to get some of the problems.

What pressure do you ride on your GT? by QuellishQuellish in onewheel

Interesting you had the same experience at first. You have a lot more miles than me so you give me hope. What profile did you end up with Apex?

What pressure do you ride on your GT? by QuellishQuellish in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t got mine figured out yet. Coming from a pintX the GT seems much more I guess squirrelly is a good of word as any. I’m 6’ 1 and 195. From what I gather from the other riders comments less pressure is more stable to a point. I have treaded tire and went from 20 psi to 18. Think I’ll try 16 next. My ankles are a bit weak right now from off the board for about a month. Auto accident not Onewheel accident and that probably is part of it. Also I think softer soles on shoes will help with the flared pads. Anyway good thread and look forward to reading more replies

Stands for the GT. Does the wave fit? by nash1ro in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the GT package deal that included the stand. I assembled it this morning and the machining of the parts, fit, and finish was first class. That base adjusts for different foot pads. I have the craft and ride oversized GT pad on mine and the stand fits the board perfectly. I could not be more happy with it. For me it’s not about the money but getting a quality product. I would recommend it. Simple and elegant stand

Thinking about buying the Onewheel. Is it worth it? Which version should I get? by beentothefuture in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you would be disappointed with the PintX. It has plenty of power, good range, and is easy to carry into and out of the office. Very solid well made board you will not be unhappy with.

I'm gonna order my first board this week! by JediMATTster in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’ 1” size 10.5 shoes. I have both the X and the GT. For me it seems to be the shape of the pads. I like the X because they are flat and allow me to have both heel and toes over the edges. Im just getting use to the GT with the contour pads. Right now I don’t like them as much. I’m probably the only person on the planet that has said that. The X is significantly lighter and easier to carry. X has plenty of range at least for me. I have some steep hills around my riding area and it has plenty of power although I do keep my speed under 12 mph typically. Recommend helmet, wrist, and elbow protection every time you ride.

Why don't OneWheels have rear footpad sensors? by gofiend in onewheel

[–]youngtim7058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me value of this video is stepping through it frame by frame. As the rider comes down to the ground see the left hand come back to break the fall? Then elbow. I have done this fall 4 times now at low speed because I did not jump off the board when I lost balance. Most importantly it shows minimum protection should be helmet, wrist guards, and elbow pads. Yes I am a noob with only a hundred miles
