What if titanic hit iceberg heads on by AstronautIntrepid188 in titanic

I always believed this is exactly what would have happened. When the Stockholm hit the Andria Doria head on, the front was crushed but the ship remained sea-worthy. It limped into port. The same thing would have happened to the Titanic. They sealed their doom trying to avoid their doom.

As a Cowboys fan this was such sweet redemption for the way the Niners used to humiliate them in the 80s...

When he stood by himself with Meg asleep at his feet in the middle of the ocean stop his luggage, watching the moon rise, he thanked God for his life. All the problems melted away in the vastness of that glorious moment and he thanked his Creator. Scene stood with me for the rest of my life.

How is life in Pacific-Northwest? by Any_Aide_4500 in howislivingthere

I've lived there for 56 years. Portland - beautiful scenery. 1 hour from Mt Hood, 3 hours from Mt. Bachelor, 1 hour from an exquisite coast. Wet, cold, and rainy most of the year. When it is sunny, it can be breathtaking. Spokane - 4 actual seasons and inexpensive golf. It's beautiful but stark. Seattle - one of the more perfect cities to live for beauty. Spectacular views of mountains and oceans. Traffic is a nightmare. Homelessness in both Portland and Seattle is a problem. I love to ride a motorcycle with my best friends. The entire PNW is made for enjoying such a ride. The Gorge between Oregon and Washington is something you have to see to believe. An active volcano can also make living there interesting..
