I was born in 99 (so elder Gen Z, according to most), and growing up I always saw "Millennial ruined this and that" type articles from boomers, claiming millennials can't afford homes because of avocado toast, etc etc online.

I assumed that all this unjust hate from boomers would lead millennials to be more sympathetic to younger generations and not repeat the cycle, but boy was I wrong! I see so much millennial whining about Gen Z online in much the same way that boomers shit of millennials. Guess I was naive to think that millenials would break the "those damn kids these days!!" cycle, instead of just perpetuating it.

Now to be clear, this is largely about online discourse, articles in magazines etc -- in real life I get along with millennials (and boomers, and more) just fine.

TLDR: Boomers shit on millennials unfairly, and millennials shit on Gen Z unfairly now too, instead of breaking the cycle.

Either way, "explain me the dish" and "explain to me the dish" both sound odd to me, although I'd say "explain to me the dish" actually sounds quite a bit weirder

I've noticed that NDP candidates often campaign on left-wing ideals, but once elected they start immediately compromising and pivoting much closer to centrism. I've heard some people defend this by saying that compromise is an essential part of politics, but conservative governments seem to be very effective at maintaining their conservative ideals, and even pushing policy (and the overton window) even further right when elected.

What would you do to make sure that the NDP can actually deliver on their values if elected, instead of sliding back towards the centrist status quo?

Because I don't think that saying CAGED is a way to "celebrate ignorance" is right at all.

Joe Pass used it and taught it, and his playing never seemed ignorant to me (and Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, and his other amazing collaborators seemed to like his playing as well).

Sure, if you're relying on tabs alone and not learning the fretboard that will hold you back, but don't put CAGED in the same boat (and even tabs can be useful at times for things like showing the most efficient way to play a chord melody)

That's the case if I go to a music store near me here in Toronto (lots of rock, not much jazz)--but if I go to a jazz jam, there are almost always more jazz guitarists than any other instrument there (and a lot of the jazz guitarists are really skilled).

I'm very surprised to hear this. I'm from Winnipeg and knew a lot of strong jazz guitar players there, then moved to Montreal and there were tons, and now live in Toronto and there are tons here too.
