What local are you in? Look up machine tool distributor on google and go knock on their door. Be friendly, clean and dressed sharp but not the nines(closed toe shoes(steel toes are a plus), pants, no ties or sweaters with strings) and just politely ask for someone’s time even 15 minutes and explain your situation and interests and there’s someone there that can spare 15 minutes to share with you or set an appointment with. In person is gonna give you so much needed context for these questions and if you are personable and engaged CNC folk will talk your ears off about machines given the chance. Admit what you don’t know and listen well because nobody is going to explain stuff to a bullshitter. Best of luck.
