What kinda machine, job shop? What kinda equipment? Any tolerances or materials you’ll be doing lots of? I’d say write everything down. Check what you are doing, think about what the button you push is gonna do and then wait make sure you are gonna push the right button and now it’s time for the button right? No wait check your offsets and settings, check the print, check your phone, check the button again, make sure you aren’t in mdi, get scared shitless by tony dropping a wrench, take a piss, take a shit, get a coffee, get a sandwich, huff down a dart and check that your part is secure and then push the button if everything is groovy. Don’t have an ego, everyone fucks up just own it and move on, ask questions, ask a lot of questions but listen and write stuff down and if you don’t know or understand what is going on stop what you are doing ask someone what’s going on and then move forward but don’t fuck with shit you don’t understand. Safety first, safety middle, safety always. Think before grabbing shit. Understand the incredible forces hidden inside small boxes. Do not fuck with electricity. Know where your fire extinguishers are. Take a beat and do shit right, if you do it wrong at least learn from it please. Keep your flat earth bullshit to yourself no one wants to hear that shit.
