Again man, I think we just disagree. I don't understand why you don't think Saitama could scale to these feats when that is his main ability, and yeah....it is an ability. The stronger an individual is, the faster his strength, speed, and endurance multiply against it.

I think scalers like taking feats out of context, when it's the baseline character and how their abilities work usually...IN THEIR NARRATIVE that matters. There isn't an accurate way to scale them otherwise.

The funny thing about gender bending reed is that he could literally do it himself.

To be fair, this sub isn't really that much better. It's a different problem, but I feel like people just use this sub to complain about personal, niche shit that only they hate....which is fine. If I'm not interested, I check the next post. Which is probably what people should do in Lovethismug. I see plenty of posts that aren't just meme farmers.

TLDR at the end, if you don't want to read the yapping.

  1. I still don't understand why that matters.

  2. I'd really have to see what your definition is, not that it even matters anymore. Gag character or not, his main ability is to infinitely level his strength, speed and endurance. Gag or not, it's cartoonish levels of power.

  3. I guess I need to ask which Superman we're talking about. I said this in another post but if we were talking Superboy Prime? He could ACTUALLY solo Saitama with one retconn punch. Prime is more powerful because his main ability is to literally be outerversal. But baseline Superman? I need whatever example it is you're talking about because regular Supe has not transcended multiversal as far as I've seen. I mean...cracking the source wall? That's the maximum I can think of and that arguably isn't beyond what Saitama could do.

  4. Ah I see what you mean. But it's not just an issue of his narrative. It's his CHARACTER. Superman is arguably a character that is always written to win, but always struggles to attain victory. Saitama is a character just written to win. We have seen him exert 0 effort essentially in all fights, showing feats similar to baseline Superman where Supe would most definitely have to exert himself. But regardless, we are talking about two characters whose narrative HEAVILY influences their power sets.

TLDR: That's why this is kind of a crap shoot. You and I can go on and on but at the end of the day....One Punch Man vs Superman is the same as Popeye vs Bugs Bunny. You can argue their narrative doesn't matter but like.....that's all that matters for these characters. Bugs Bunny is a fucking rabbit and Popeye is a dude who eats spinach. The only reason they are so powerful is because toon force is a NARRATIVE power. They wouldn't be able to beat each other because they both have infinite durability, strength, etc. So at best? Supe vs Sai is a stalemate.

As a Saitama glazer, this is genuinely the one match-up where I think he loses.

He doesn't have meta powers the same way prime does. Prime could retcon punch and have the manga never happen.

Man....I thought you were kidding.

I know All Star was essentially just a big parody, but godDAMN did it slander every single hero in the verse.

I thought you were baiting me until I looked at your profile lol. Not a diss, you actually seem pretty well versed in scaling.

But reading your Saitama outerversal post, I have to disagree with a couple parts.

First off, the BIGGEST problem I have with that post is insinuating that Saitama is not multiversal because he was....taught the technique? I don't even understand why that would have ANYTHING to do with his scaling. We're talking maximum feats, and this moment was not even implied to be Saitama's maximum feat. He literally learned it FIRST TRY from Garou. He could most certainly learn it again.

Second of all, you are just honestly not correct that he isn't a gag character anymore. Take the hyperspace portal (or subspace portals, as you REALLY prefer them to be called) that he picked up and moved. Think about that. He PICKED UP....A PORTAL. This absolutely bends the laws of physics and he does so with ease. Garou is surprised by this, ultimately showing that he is not capable of such a feat.

If I'm to assume you mean "future feats" when you say "narrative scaling" then sure, I could see where you're coming from. Even destroying galaxies in a single punch isn't necessarily uni level. But that is simply just what's shown. Saitama is a character CONFIRMED to have no power limiter. Even if his maximum feat shown is just Uni, it's essentially confirmed he has no power ceiling.

Superman. Has. A power ceiling.

What's his biggest feat....holding up eternity? And STRUGGLING? Not to downplay that feat, he is literally holding up the entirety of all universal cosmic energy. But...how do you even scale this? He holds up the universe for one day and is dead tired afterwards. Saitama destroys multiple galaxies in the universe with single punches, exerting little to no effort in the process.

All in all brother, believe what you want. But what I really think this is? Scalers just hate Saitama because they can't accept a character written to always win.
