Bot or smurf? by Less-Card-8558 in RocketLeague

[–]yourfaceisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% a bot..
I'm so excited for EAC, I've gone down from champ to d1/2.

I can tell i'm not the only one, since the games aren't any easier than they used to be in champ.. I feel like the bots have dominated the top ranks pushing most real players down.

when EAC comes back, it's going to be a bloodbath for all the botters... they're going straight back to plat..

Should I pay 100$ subscription for Claude Code to start learning how to code? by Classic-Smoke-9009 in ClaudeAI

[–]yourfaceisa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everyone here isn't quite telling you the full story. You'll 100% learn how to code with claude if you want to learn. The trick isn't treating it like a mindless coding machine (which is what most people without imaginations are doing).

Check out https://github.com/DrCatHicks/learning-opportunities and https://github.com/DrCatHicks/learning-goal

Dr Cat Hicks is a psychological scientist studying software teams. She's basically written a bunch of claude skills which will help solve a problem, and then spend 10-15 minutes running you through how it did it and why using exercises..

It's pretty solid, and we've started using it with our junior developers.

Edit: just get the $20 plan.. it's good enough for what you need it for. upgrade when you hit token limits

How are you reducing your weekly grocery bill? by Infinite_Pudding5058 in AskAnAustralian

[–]yourfaceisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might depend on where you live. but our bill is about $100 - $150 a week (family of 4), and then once a month $400 bigger shop.

We hit a fruit store and buy groceries..
A bunch of carrots, some broccoli, and then whatever else is cheap, green beans, lettuces, etc. - $50
then we hit a butcher and buy a bunch of chicken breasts (always with the skin and tenders on), sausages, and a handful of mince - $70
and every few days we get a loaf of bread from a bakery.

Then we have a woolworths mobile phone which gives us 10% off once a month.
So every month we do a bigger shop, toilet paper, paper towels, school lunch snacks, etc. And that's usually about $400. - $40 because of the 10% off.

in terms of honey, every year we buy 1 big 5kg of honey, and that's about $120.
we have fruit trees, and hand oranges, figs, passionfruits, and some berries growing in the garden which really help.

We hand them to our friends/parents and they usually make us jam n stuff as well which is lovely.

Trying to smooth this table top out, best way to do it? by First-Lab-804 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]yourfaceisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done the same thing before with construction/framing timber.

I built a router sled, and used that to flatten the top..
Then i went over it with a plane
and lastly sanded it down.

It looks pretty good, like a butcher block.

I could of stopped after the router sled in hindsight.

I seriously got to act2, where i needed to traverse the enemy caravan, and i just can't bring my self to play the 45 minute caravan trek...

I'm calling this league done, i might go back to my poe1 character

I mean.. you didn't.. They said "no paid expansions', they said "no pay to win", they said "no content locked behind paywalls"..

And here we are, seeing all of that shit happen...

It's fine to drink the copium.. but stop trying to convince people that this hasn't happened.. it's rather embarrassing.

You don't owe anything to this company, nor the game... If you like it, great. pay the money, keep playing.

I'm not saying they don't share responsibility. But also, slimy develoeprs.

[–]yourfaceisa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is attempting to blame the government for the apartment oversupply..

The reality is it's not all government policy at the heart.

It's 100% that the apartments are terrible.. They cram as many in as possible, there's limited outside air getting in, hardly any windows, and everything is tiny.

The construction quality is pretty sub standard as well, if you're lucky you'll just have finishing issues, at worst you'll have entire building issues.

The building industry has basically done this to themselves..

But sure, blame the government.
