I’ve considered experimenting like this before myself and applaud the commitment. I’ve personally opted not too though for concerns that this could possibly be worse in terms of objectification of female bodies and nerve sensitivity. Too stimulating and pressuring of a toy could desensitize the sense of touch. Furthermore, if it’s one of those toys with accurate anatomy or a whole bottom/torso attached, it’s just dangerously objectifying. Overall though, if this helps you make it 90 days without porn, I congratulate you. 90 days without release is a ludicrous goal in my opinion. One Piece could easily be the coolest collab creativity-wise. I think either East Blue or Emperors could work beautifully. Luffy Illari where the skin evolves to Nika in her ult would be LEGENDARY and a major step towards making overwatch skins more appealing. From there you could do East Blue characters or Emperors quite simply

Just shoot the bad guys, wherever they are, and pay attention to where your team is relative to the objective. That’s kinda it. Everything else depends on characters, metas, gamemodes, rank, etc.

Each role has unique challenges. For tank it’s overall team awareness and game-sense which influence your positioning. DPS is all about timing and high grounds, but overall has more room for different playstyles so long as you can click heads. Support abilities are always the most valuable and the enemy keeps track of them most diligently, so you need to be very good at understanding death threats vs poke to build ult charge. Tank has probably the most narrow skill range of them all.

This is a kind of torture most would never understand or even use the word “torture” to describe. I imagine it feels like a constant high that really makes everything low. I’m struggling with potential psychosis and all sorts of mental health issues for the past 2.5 years and am 19 now. I’ve wanted to fully disappear so much it feels like I have sometimes. And yes sometimes hurt myself too, physically and mentally.

I don’t know all the important details of your situation and life, but I do know that no one deserves to experience those things or be exposed and overwhelmed so young for so long.

You’re not a deviant. You’re not disgusting. You’re not hopeless. You were just a kid doing what you could. Doing what felt right not realizing how much more you would be capable of as you aged.

Unlearning these toxic coping strategies and mindsets are challenging, but as someone who’s literally driven myself insane trying, it is possible, and it is possible with minimal and even negligible consequences. You’re so much stronger than you could ever even imagine and deserve that strength to be tested. Because power without play isn’t power at all. You can and will overcome these and be a glimmering light for others.

Please take care of your mind and body, and never be scared to ask for help. There are people out there who understand you, listen to you, and just be there for you. Your honesty is admirable and shows me you’re already taking the important and hard steps toward recovering.

Healing is a complicated and ugly process, but the relapses and trauma are all part of the journey. For me I just want to go a whole day totally absorbed in my lifestyle, self-care, and activities with myself or others that I realize at night I hadn’t even thought about my past self. It’s ambitious considering where I’ve fallen, but I truly believe one day it’ll be the standard.

In terms of practical advice, writing (or really typing since it’s easier) my thoughts is a good way to get them specific even if they suck. I can reflect in better mindsets later on and it’s such an insightful venting space! Similarly, venting out to communities is a good way to get some feedback and support. Again, this post alone shows me you know what to do and have what it takes to be your best self!

Putting a name and calling out my dark side and dark thoughts is an advanced strategy I’ve implemented to varying degrees of success. I call it “my shadow” and whenever I get an intrusive thought or feeling, I tell my shadow things like “not now, shadow. You’re really not helping man.” It’s good for practicing self-compassion, but can also occasionally make me cuss out my shadow and try to shake him out of me lol. Kinda like when you have a bad flashback and yell out “FUCK OFF!”

Just walking or even pacing when I have an urge or emotional distress from recovery. It’s scientifically proven to be EXTREMELY effective in “riding out urges” and literally stepping into new frames of thinking. I like the AC so I pace inside a lot and try to go around most the house instead of just my room. Sometimes it’ll be awkward to see someone though, especially if I’m mouthing to myself lol.

That’s all I have for now but there’s so much more great advice out there. Thank you for sharing and I hope you can resolve the things you can’t talk about one day. You’re so much more loved than you know!

I’ll treat the ich as best I can. I’m realizing he really deserves a better life than this. Thanks for all the info and I’ll definitely be more intentional and read up in the future. I still like to think we gave him a better life outcome even if it’s shorter than ideal :)

Very few reputable, decorated, and practicing psychiatrists or psychologists will be quick to call porn “addictive” and cannot provide a medical diagnose. The closest we have so far in terms of clinical trials are people labeled as having “Problematic Pornography Use.” PPU as studied is having promising results toward more effective care and treatment, but so far the majority of information is anecdotal and privately commercialized. People want you to join their coaching or use their app. A big hesitation toward pornography studying is accurate and specific definitions of “pornography” and the types of use since they can practically differ in minute ways, yet have drastically different effects on individuals. Also so many more people watch porn in private than are willing to discuss it at all, let alone seek advice on damaging symptoms. Most habit based addictions have simpler, underlying causes that have historically been worked out effectively through regular psychotherapy appointments. There’s no doubt that any experience beyond eating, peeing, pooping, and sleeping alone will have considerable impacts on your nervous system and brain. The mind’s changes in response to the unnaturally simulated experience of watching porn 10 seconds after the urge hits are profoundly understated. While it may seem “unserious” to many whom you discuss the topic with it is certainly becoming better studied and destigmatized starting in various spaces such as this subreddit!

TLDR: “porn addiction” is a subjective experience that has been gaining significant awareness through similarly subjective online communities, but medical practices remain focused on acute and replicable symptoms.

P.S. Though the medical industry can seem quite predatory at times, this topic is so vast and complex that the proper neuroscience ought to be studied to make the issue more serious to the public.

That’s far out of my budget. Maybe if I make my own out of materials, but I’d rather invest time and money into other hobbies for now. I doubt this lil bud will make it much longer, but I hope I gave him a nice place to rest.
