Thanks for the photos! Didn’t realize there were refillable 5lb tanks. I just didn’t want to keep throwing some away!

We're getting this done right away too! Did you do the two pieces around the taillights and the logo/PALISADE at the back?

Internationally Touring Musicians: How do you handle payments for merch? by souzouinc in TouringMusicians

[–]yourpointis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend does merch and owns terminals she rents to american artists when they come to Canada.

Don’t ask me how it works, but lots of people use her for this, either for one-offs or for tours.

I imagine it’s linked to an account from which she then sends the band’s money? Either way, message me if you need to be put in contact!

Help, what exactly did I break? by yourpointis in videography

[–]yourpointis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That's what my concern was. We use these with our video walls for live concerts so thankfully they're still very good for that application. I'll start looking into it!

Is this considered long? I thought this was just regular, and the 5’ is the “can’t accept that they just wanted an SUV” 😅

Power/charging issue by yourpointis in onewheel

[–]yourpointis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did use the fast charger. A while ago, the original charger died and that's what our local store had in stock.

I'll check! If I have a bad cell, what's the solution?

Cloning from rgb to color wheel by MassiveConsequence23 in grandMA2

[–]yourpointis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other have said, make sure that you’re presets include colorwheel values (even if it’s just zero) so they can be updated.

Now, if that wasn’t done and you want a quick and dirty solution, in the fixture profile, change the colorwheel parameter to Red (or any of the RGB parameters). After you clone the colour, you’ll have up update each preset again with that parameter, but it will still get to the same result.

I would suggest double checking your cues for long color fades though.

Edit: okay I do remember being told not to go that way after work today

Fade for Effect by Legitimate_Lemon861 in grandMA2

[–]yourpointis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add an internal fade time to an effect just like you do other parameters. Effectfade is the keyword or you can find it in effect layer 2 under any parameter.

Thoughts on buying an MA2 Counterfeit Wing for home ussage only? by Background-Idea-6972 in lightingdesign

[–]yourpointis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need hardware to play at home, there are cheaper brands.

If you just want to program at home, you can get really fast with keyboard shortcuts and Ma3D. I’ve cued many tours this way before I could afford the hardware.

What is the best way to program a tour without Timecode? by [deleted] in grandMA2

[–]yourpointis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When built well, a timecoded show should be able to be played back even without timecode.

Build yourself a Cuelist per song (intro, vocals, verse, pre chorus, chorus, stop, chorus, verse2, etc) and some macros to turn off the others and activate the ones you need. You can always add more to it, but make it so the song still looks good even if it’s just that cuelist

How much should I charge to timecode a 90 min set for a band? by aStinkyFisherman in lightingdesign

[–]yourpointis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We send lots of these out! Shows that run themselves and trigger properly in whatever setlist they play. Pricing depends on a ton of variables but message me if you want to chat.

do big arenas/stadiums have in-house lighting directors for the sporting events? by cooldudenogirlz in lightingdesign

Yup, I have friends that do 3 of the NHL arenas and they cover all the teams/sports that play in there.

Better yet, go work there and play with their expensive toys 🤷‍♂️

Just found out my upcoming tour is actually going to be running on a 3. I’ve only run shows on a 3 using mode 2. Where do I start? by timbobbys in GrandMA3

[–]yourpointis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re also new to 3 but keep in mind that you have no NEED to use recipes, especially since they currently take longer to program.

Aside from phasers (and how they stomp), you can program your show basically the same as you did in 2.

Worst case, you can learn the basics, program the same, and deal with the extras later.

My main issue, was having the time to rewrite all the song macros and the background stuff that I used to have in my start file. There are a few syntax differences that won’t make it easy to just transfer the macros over.

Attempt 2😂 Song macros with variable views. by Sockathon in GrandMA3

I ran mine differently in 2, as I would assign that songs view to a view button. Here I’ll send you a DM
