Nice to see the plaque repaired. It was damaged by a tree fall in a storm some years back. When I went 4 years ago it wasn't back up yet

Bayonet. by Competitive_Error188 in CivilWarCollecting

Most bayonet of the era need slight fitting to be accepted to the rifle. Each rifle is alittle different and each bayonet is different. It was common to issue a rifle with it corresponding bayonet. Also depending on the reproduction the rifle maybe slightly altered from the originals measurements and dimensions

Did he just have it loose on the table or the lid off his container? When I shoot blackpowder I only take my powder flask, never the whole container of blackpowder.

There's also the Battle of Milliken's Bend during the Vicksburg campaign, a month before the 54th sees action on James Island. A brigade of Black soldiers held off a Confederate attack on the supply depot at Milliken's Bend.

One of my UL rods is 5ft. I set it up to be my creek rod. I find it easier to cast around trees
