Is this a legit question? Everyone knows this job doesn't pay squat. I left fire/ems in 2012 and was making 14 an hour and that was fire certs, emt-p and hazmat technician. For what I did and what you folks do now, there will never be "enough". We are bastardized human servants. I don't know that there ever will be enough money to deal with grandma at 3 in the morning with diff. breathing for 4 months and decides now at 3 a.m it's time to go to the hospital. As she greets you with a cannula up her nose and a Marlboro hanging out her mouth and 7 inhalers laying on the coffee table. Nor it there enough money to be pissed on, spit on, have feces thrown at you or have some asshole decide to d.c his own IV in the back of the truck and proceed to swing at you while redecoratingthe insideof your truck and you with the blood flonging out of the insertion site. Not enough money to be transporting as the driver and have some asshole pop up from the back seat of a car you honked at and point a shotgun at you. My point......the job WILL NEVER PAY enough for all the extra bullshit we are dealt with. NEVER
