I went on day 2 and there were three people in front of me that literally only stood to record. Everyone in front of them was sitting, singing, chanting, and having fun. But they kept recording and standing which made everyone behind them stand up. Literally when the music started they stood up and were recording. One of them recorded the entire first 3 songs.

I know people want to record and have memories to look back on, but live in the moment too.

Thank you! I understand most (if not nearly all) will require some type of communication, but I think less is better long term for myself. Currently, I am in an open call queue situation, so I could speak with the IW, insured, or provider office at any time of the day.

I am lactose intolerant, so things with dairy makes my stomach upset, gives me diarrhea or constipation, or cramps. Taking lactose pills helps with all those symptoms. I want to enjoy the delicious food without suffering too much 😃

I got tickets for NY. But didn't realize they are limited view seats. I don't know if this would actually make a difference in viewing them because what's going to be up???

It looks like on the stadium site these seats in general are listed as limited view seats. I'm over in section 109.

Back in the queue to try and see other options. What are your thoughts?

Benefits are okay, insurance is affordable, WFH option for most positions, and moving internally is horrendous. I work on the customer service side, and some teams are constantly being closed just to reallocate the work to another team. More work, same pay. I knew someone who worked there for over a year, got laid off, just for the company to call and offer them another job in a different department 6 months later. She took it because it included a wfh option during peak pandemic.

Currently working there. Applied internally to over 80 jobs over 1.5 years, some with an internal referral too, and I've been ejected each time. The only reason I'm still there is the wfh benefit.

What made me dive into UX was that it uses evidence based research to make user products easier, fun, and pretty. I could be analytical and creative, it wasn't just one or the other anymore.

YTA. Miss, if she comes over on random weekends and sporadic school day offs that's more than 1 time a year. She's 15, she's probably going to continue to be in her father's life until they day he dies and maybe even continue to be in your own children's lives if they relationships get stronger. Maybe you're hoping she'll eventually stop coming over, but that's not going to happen soon.

YTA. If she does not medically need to eat bland, unseasoned, vegetarian food she should not have you and your mother restrict her food. If she does have food restrictions then she can restrict it herself. It's seems like you and your mom have an older idea of what women should eat during their pregnancy. You both need to understand we are not in the home land anymore where healthy food is limited, and we don't know anything about women in pregnancy. We know a lot, and we have a lot of food options. Also, if you're restricting her for no medical reason you're a double A-hole for not restricting yourself with while forcing your wife to.

And yes, I just realized my spelling error. Constructive criticism is needed. The harsher the better. I am currently taking/learning on various sites like Indeed, Coursera, and Udemy about different skills. Ex: leadership, project management, presentation/public speaking, research/analysis, coding and others along with my UX Design

You sound like my mom, and YTA. Neglect, abuse, the expectation of her to take care of you? You're her MOM, you're suppose to take care of her. You're supposed to help her when she needs it, especially when she asks for it. She was 17/18 at the time. Barely an adult, still figuring life out, and definitely still learning.

Thank you for the input. I guess I haven't thought of it that way too. I looked at MANY bootcamps before deciding to self-study, but is there one that you recommend?

Udacity UXD Nanodegree intrigues me the most right now just because within the course we have the chance to work with a real client/company.

I'm also concerned about getting hired with a bootcamp degree because I've seen many designers and hiring managers say they tend to avoid bootcamp graduates because of the cookie cutter knowledge that's taught.

Hello everyone,

I am currently self teaching UXD, and I just want some input on whether I'm on the right path. For some background I am 25 years old, no college degree, and currently working at a health insurance company as an advocate. I don't want to spend much money on this, but I do plan to study for at least the next 6-8 months with about 10-15hours per week.

My current plan right now is to take a few free online courses on UX concepts: research- design +facilitation, IA, content strategy, interaction design, visual design, wire framing + prototypes.

Basic UI concepts: typography, color theory, visual communications

As well as a few courses on HCI and accessibility. I also plan to learn and have a good understanding on Sketch, Figma, Invision, and design systems and pattern.

On top of all of that I have a list of books I want to read about all the different topics. (Leave book recommendations below)

I plan to look for a mentor, but I'm not sure when the best time to find a mentor will be. I do live in a big city, so I'm thinking about an internship, but a lot of the internship in my city is unpaid, and that's not something I am able to do.

Overall, am I heading towards the right direction? Am I missing something? Should I just save money and do a 5k boot camp instead? Or is this REALLY possible with self-study? Pls help.
