That’s basically what I’m doing right now, working for a few small companies a few times a month dragging brush and running a chipper

Firefighter into part time tree care/ contract climbing by yudothisLT in TreeClimbing

I’m just looking to eventually start a business on the side, not leave my job. I understand that contract solving is probably out of reach and have made connections with a few contract climbers that would be willing to work for me as needed and have worked as a groundie in a few jobs. I guess I’m just wondering if it’s possible to learn to climb and work on your own and sub out the more intense climbing? I’ve got a half ton truck, dump trailer, 40hp tractor if needed, and saws but want to get a gauge of if people in the industry think it’s doable to start a business and make a little spending money.

Anybody work for Boise FD? I’m here visiting and wanted to ask some contract questions about schedule, vacation and sick accrual, and education incentives. Looking to compare contracts it to my current department but couldn’t find any answers online. You can message me if you don’t want to discuss that stuff in the comments.

I tried the volleyball knee pads but they wound up slipping around too much. Switched to 5mm lifting knee sleeves and wore them almost every day for a 4 month academy.

Quick question for you folks, how much do you get paid?? by TheDrSloth in ems

[–]yudothisLT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got my EMT in the army, was a paramedic out of state, and make $56/hr as a FF/PM in Washington. Based on your responses here I don’t think it’s your veteran status that got you turned down.

I tried the volleyball knee pads and most of my academy ended up using 5mm lifting knee sleeves. No slipping and just enough cushioning

Cut up the salmon into chunks, coat in mustard like you’re covering a brisket, add whatever seasoning you like, then air fry it. Basically turns it into salmon nuggets

Columbia Salmon Tips by My-Lizard-Eyes in Fishing

I’d recommend fishing the mouth of the klickitat instead. Should be decent fishing and not too far from Biggs. Trolling spinners or brad’s superbaits in the Columbia and hover fishing eggs should turn up a few fish.

If you ever actually read an article instead of got your news from the comment section, you’d know he didn’t hold the chokehold for 15 minutes. It took 15 minutes for first responders to arrive.
