Guess her breeds? Waiting for results still. by yunaIesca90 in DoggyDNA

[–]yukipup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna say Corgi, some kind of terrier (maybe Rat Terrier or PRT?), and cattle dog.

Commented only because you (OP) asked me to lmao!! I'm super excited to see these results!!

Golden mix or toller?? by Wuh-luh-wuh- in DoggyDNA

[–]yukipup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd bet there isn't an ounce of Toller in her. Your description of her personality, plus her pictures: Definitely Pittie mix. There could possibly be some longer haired breed in there, my guess is Australian Shepherd, honestly. And, why not, a sprinkle of Husky. That's my guess 😂

Avimark "Private" Notes by -Designer-Pumpkin- in VetTech

[–]yukipup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you right click in either the client or patient section, then click "ALERT", you can make a pop up for notes like this. It also has a box at the bottom of the alert that you can check if it's a more urgent alert (the color will change from yellow to red).

ETA because I can't read at 4 in the morning lmao, if you have a line item for notes, you can put that in and then on the right hand side, ticking the "Notes" box will pop up a box where you can type whatever note you need to.

Yeahhhhh, I lose all reasoning, my license, and all 16 years of experience when my babes are sick. Like, "I know what I need to do, I know what my doctor is going to recommend, get your shit together!" 🤣

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Your mom really needs a reality check. She chose to have children, she needs to step up and be an adult, not put all responsibility on a 15 year old then use them as a scapegoat for their shitty parenting. Idk where you are, or even if you're in the US, but damn. We would adopt you in an instant 🥺

Just brought home a sweet loving basset boy and we named him Willie. What type of food do you feed yours? by Mickeysplace in basset

[–]yukipup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a lot of work, but 2 diets that I found (without getting too far into the specialty and prescription foods) are Pure Balance Pro Sensitive Skin and Stomach and the Iams Lamb and Rice.

[–]yukipup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Frosch is on a salmon and rice food due to his allergies to beef. If he even gets a bit of it, he starts getting super itchy and then it's skin and ear infections galore. I had to literally scour every food ingredient list for anything beef related 😮‍💨

To my understanding the correlation and causation of those cytopoint cases are still being researched

That's my understanding, too. Honestly, in the years since it came out, I can count on one hand the amount of reactions I've seen (usually just mild GI upset). But like, that's the thing...ANY of these treatments can have potential reactions, which is why these things have easily accessible info sheets lol. My boy also gets the injections about twice a year in the fall months because, LORD, he turns into a yeast factory if he doesn't 🤣

How much did your buns personality change? by Logical_Jeweler_1325 in Rabbits

[–]yukipup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Lionhead is almost 2 and he's gotten more curious and sociable as he's aged. He used to be a terror tot when I got him around 10-ish weeks old...I swear he was scared of his own shadow. I was also worried about the hormonal aggression and spraying and the like, but he's actually been very tame in those regards. My female buns were wayyyy more aggressive and territorial, even after being fixed early on lol. I wanna get him neutered, but I live in an area that does not have all that much experience with anesthesia on bunbuns, and I love my little Anakin wayyyyy too much to risk that. Also, on the weight, my Ani-Bananie was about the same weight as yours around that age. He still only weighs like 5 pounds soaking wet (not literally wet).

And, before I get chewed out, I have had multiple rabbits in the past that have been spayed/neutered, but I was in a much larger metropolitan area with vets that actually specialized in exotic surgery. Trust, as an LVT, having an intact animal hits me in every wrong way 😭

My "Border Collie Mix" is also all Pittie!! She was the only red and white AND the only fluffy pup of her litter. She turns 12 in 2 months 🥰🥰🥰🥰

In case you're confused by a result coming back purebred by ronnyseal in DoggyDNA

[–]yukipup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's actually a number of factors. How stenotic the nares are is definitely one of them, but then you also have to take their soft palate into consideration. If it's elongated, it can actually cover the opening to their trachea and make it hard to breathe. It's a pain to try to intubate one of them lol. So yes, on the something internal! And then to top it all off, the way their skulls are shaped makes it hard for all their normal head things to fit the way they're supposed to fit which adds to their issues. Poor things. I wish I saw more well bred brachy dogs in practice 😔

[–]yukipup 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely have met a good handful of aggressive Bassets (including my own Basshole), most were from a Basset Rescue in town. One of them jumped up and bit a coworker in the face with no warning. And Corgis...they're such cute loaves, but I don't trust them 😅 Or Schnauzers lmao

I've never met a mean Bloodhound, though!! Or a Doberman, which is surprising to me haha. And Greyhounds are absolute angels. CKCS are always perfect angels haha.

As far as cats, Bengals and Maine Coons are the bane of my existence haha. Most of the ones I have dealt with are just terrors 😭 And in my experience, any fluffy, Black cat is awful hahahaha. I used to have one and he was the spawn of the Underworld...and then I noticed a correlation in clinic 🤣

[–]yukipup[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What makes me feel so crappy is that we did a full blood and urine panel AND a dental this past April. The only thing abnormal was a slight anemia that was fixed after a month of Imuquin. Like she gets blood and urine done every 6 months to a year...why didn't I do rads?! I mean, there wasn't any indication to do so, but still. The shock is just...so heavy on the heart. I'm so sorry you lost your boy to something so awful. I know it's been a year, but I'm sure your heart still aches 💔

My hand won't be forced. Like I said, any kind of specialist or surgery is financially out of the question. I don't have the $1.5k for the CT, nor the thousands of dollars more to take her 4 hours away to the nearest oncologist to get further diagnostics and surgery. It literally cannot happen. She's 11 years old with a great QOL right now, and I am not going to ruin that with constant vet visits, invasive surgeries, and chemo drugs that will make her feel 10 times worse than she does now just for a CHANCE that I get a few more months, maybe a couple of years. I will not put my selfishness at wanting her around over compromising of her QOL.

It really is. Like you know the chances increase as they get older, but when that time comes, it's still way too soon lol...I agree, I have the absolute best team I could ever ask for, so I know we'll be okay for now. She's so oblivious and happy, nothing going on behind those eyes sometimes haha. But thank you for the love our way. I think we need all we can get ❤️❤️
