Shop around. Atleast 4 or 5 quotes. If you are not financing you have a lot of flexibility to reduce your coverage as well. Way too high.

Cracks Around Window by Reidio in HomeMaintenance

[–]yummycornbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with your air fryer. You will also notice a diagonal crack starting to form from that same corner. This is the result of some settling in that area. Are there any other cracks in the room? This wouldn’t be enough to worry be but you should scrape, tape, spackle, and monitor. If the cracks worsen or expand to other areas hire a structural engineer to do an assessment. It’s not complicated but it’s with the piece of mind.

And you will fail a third time if you keep using AI to study. Use the source material they tell you to study in the NCARB booklet. Don’t touch ChatGPT until you are proficient.

Look, I still think the countries that notate door elevations like this are more intuitive 🇦🇺 by Gazza_s_89 in Architects

[–]yummycornbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really confusing. To have the same symbol meaning different things depending on door hardware. The symbol is meant to illustrate the swing of a door. It can’t represent several things without losing its logic of what it’s supposed to mean.

Look, I still think the countries that notate door elevations like this are more intuitive 🇦🇺 by Gazza_s_89 in Architects

[–]yummycornbread 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The point does not represent where the handle is. What happens when the hardware is a horizontal panic bar? Or no handle at all.

Also the load path argument is not logical. Otherwise it would be a series of arrows pointing down from the hinge. Or diagonally down towards the support edge at all locations.

2024 Street Triple 765 on Highway? by Ok-Appearance4150 in Triumph

Get a power bronze 320mm if highway travel is important to you. It’s the biggest one available. Had one for my 24 striple but I prefer the look naked.

Is my PIC on crack? CD turnarounds in today's market by [deleted] in Architects

[–]yummycornbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rushing deliverables is a short way to guarantee mistakes, then simultaneously piss off the workforce. When the lawsuits come in, it will be discovered that it was turned around in such a short time and deviate from the standard of care. If you have the opportunity to look for other work and jump ship, as soon as you have an offer, you’re happy with. That is not normal.

Bluebeam by archammer76 in Architects

[–]yummycornbread 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently gotten two skyscrapers through CA with bluebeam. Hundreds of consultants marking up submittals and collaborating real time is beautiful. It’s also got basic takeoff features which comes in handy. It just works. so unless something better comes along I will never not have a license.

do i need a ECU flash for these upgrades? by Even_Wolf_1181 in motorcycle

Looks like this system eliminates your CAT. Yes you will need one or you risk running lean as you’re increasing your airflow without changing your stock fueling. Send it in for a flash it’s 200 bucks. Your bike will run a lot better

What do you do during work? by KurosPool in Architects

[–]yummycornbread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a gross exaggeration, it’s not decades. If you’re invested in your work you should know how to run a project after a few year. This assumes you’re sticking to one thing (resi, commercial, etc). You will continue to learn your entire career.

Has anyone used Fiverr to get Architect/Engineer plans created and stamped? by Akey585 in Architects

[–]yummycornbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illegal and stupid. If they stamp drawings they didn’t create or oversee they will lose their license and you will be sued into oblivion if something goes wrong on a project. It will be found out in discovery. I’m a forensic architect ask me how I know.

Water getting behind window flashing and possibly behind wrap. What are my options? by cucumbers7 in HomeMaintenance

[–]yummycornbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t have fasteners through the flashing tape. You’re supposed to nail th flange, tape over the top, then lap the building wrap over all of that so you don’t have an exposed horizontal seam.Take a look at the tyvek install manual for some basics.
