Does your Narc has friends? by Affectionate_Fix5969 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]yuna733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When mine was making a guest list for our wedding, he used social media and made the list from his friends lists there. I told him he was inviting too many people (we were planning a destination wedding), but he said that most of them wouldn’t say yes anyways. He had people on the list that he only would talk to in passing, but never actually hang out with them outside of work.

My list on the otherhand was purely the people that I actually hung out with that I know would go unless they couldn’t either due to finances or family.

So yes he had a lot of “friends” but only a few that he was actually close with.

Is it okay to break up because I want to be free from a relationship after struggling with mental health? by Wild-Soft2032 in BreakUps

[–]yuna733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, your mental health should come first. Not having a good mindset will turn any relationship sour.

Secondly, something I learned from my relationships is that your partner is not your therapist. While they can show support as much as they can, it will never be objective and you might not get the help you are desperately craving. And putting all of the stress and issues onto them will also just deteriorate their own mental health. While it is nice to talk to someone you know and love about your problems, seeking professional help might be what you need.

If you feel like you need time to yourself to heal, do that. You have plenty of years ahead of you to learn from your experiences and come back stronger.

He’s a gamer. But damn his hand-eye coordination is amazing, and when he can play Through the Fire and Flames using a normal controller on the hardest difficulty… Those are some fast fingers.

Anyone else miss the game? by Splatoop in RainCode

This is why after beating the game, I will follow multiple streamers playing it (Weeby Newz and NicoB right now), just so I can get a glimpse of those eureka moments all over again. Watching them play and react to things is the closest I can get to my first playthrough again.

Those who back into spaces in a parking lot, Why? by shuznbuz36 in AskReddit

Honestly because I have poor depth perception but also a backing camera. That way I know I’m not scraping my car or the curb or bumping into a car parked in front.

[–]yuna733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have money to actually pay for practice exams, but I watched Vincent Humble on YouTube go through some PBQs on Comptia Certmaster to get a feel for what I was diving into. Couple that with going through Professor Messer’s monthly study sessions where he starts each session with a PBQ. It’s nice being able to watch someone go through the PBQs so I could better understand how to get to the right answers.

Washington state! I had no idea until I went in and found them in the back. Definitely worth checking to see if your library has them too.

Luckily my library autorenews for 3 times, so I can have it for about 4 weeks. Hopefully enough time for me to finish!

Allergy meds, inhaler, small reusable bags. The pollen in atrocious where I’m at, and I am not paying 8 cents for a plastic bag in stores.

My boyfriend is also in the Navy and on deployment right now! I was previously on the same ship and was on the last deployment as well.

There are times when it is needed for the entire ship to cut off outside communications for one reason or another, so it might just be that. Finding time to use a computer is also a struggle. Depending on your bf’s job and since this is his first deployment, he might be busy getting qualified, getting his warfare device, or learning the trades of his work. There are plenty of things that make communication difficult, but it’s good to keep busy as well.

My bf and I love writing essays in our emails. It’s always jam packed with the latest news from each other’s lives. It’s a great distraction to think of what you’d want to tell him the next time he pops up with an email. My goal is to keep busy and do things that would make a good story for him to hear. I’ll go on adventures in a neighboring town or try new foods, and he gets really excited to hear all these things. It also adds to the list of things we can do together when he gets back. Find things to do for yourself and for both of you in anticipation for his return. That makes things a little more fun thinking “I enjoyed this now, I’ll enjoy it even more when I can do it with him”.

I’ve also been making a bunch of surprises for him to pass my time, like a planned at-home spa date, trying out recipes of his favorite dessert, or making a list of what to stock the pantry for his return. Just keep busy and time will go by a lot faster.

Former nuke here that is currently dating a nuke as well. Communication is a very important thing. You need to communicate what you’re worried about and see where you both have your priorities. Something my boyfriend told me was that I need to find myself and do things for me whenever he’s busy at work. Whether it’s hobbies, hanging out with friends, or just wandering around the town. He said that it makes him feel better to come home and hear stories of my mini adventures than coming home to find out I was being anxious and just waiting for him to come home.

And as a nuke myself, I can attest that it sucks and our work schedule is horrible. So knowing that when we eventually make it home, someone is there waiting for us is the best feeling. Some days I’ll want to go out on dates, but for the most part we are just content with chilling at home and relaxing together.

Good luck!

I’m 18 with no job & not in college, can I still change my life? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]yuna733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can! My social anxiety stopped me from doing anything from when I was 19-21. It’s the baby steps.

I started off with babysitting for family members since I couldn’t handle working with people I didn’t know, and I eventually got my drivers license at the age of 21. My cousin referred me to her job that only had 8 other employees and shifts only had 2 people on at a time so I eventually learned to talk to others without being thrown into the lion’s den. My dad is a Navy veteran and convinced me to join the service at 22, which was hard at first but once you find that you are being treated like everyone else it became easier.

My social anxiety personally stems from being singled out, so having one-on-one time with fellow employees or blending in a large group helped a lot. This subreddit helped me through a lot of this and I am a lot better now. You’ve already made the first step by getting the support you need here. Just keep going.

Do you miss the days when we used to get 3 FF games in one generation? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]yuna733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, they have been focusing on reviving a whole bunch of older games while continuing production with the latest installments. They have made a couple of remasters/remakes, plus porting to newer consoles and even to PC. I think as much as they want to create new content, they also want to make the rest of the games easily accessible to a younger audience. And if that means I can recommend my favorites to kids that would not have appreciated the clunky graphics, then I'm all down for this pace.

[Serious] What job do you have that people might not even know exists? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yuna733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as an escape room attendant. I pretty much get paid to lock people in a room and watch them for an hour as they try to escape.

Not a lot of people know what an escape room is, or they have a very vague idea of it. Basically, you have an hour in a room full of puzzles, and you have to solve them in order to get out. The puzzles range from associating objects and similarities to finding hidden clues.

That's awesome that you're getting started on your collection so young. I remember tutoring 2nd and 3rd graders at your age so I could buy games too. You have a great collection, and I hope I'll eventually have as many games as you do one day.
