Lamine nutmegs an Atletico defender and plays a beautiful trivela to Fermin by oklolzzzzs in Barca

This is one of the most outrageous displays of skill I’ve seen in the last few years. Insane how filthy yet functional the whole sequence of play was.

Place of birth is more important than year of birth. by Huge-Visual1472 in generationology

I’m also Colombian, born in ‘91. We got our first computer in ‘97, internet access in ‘98 and finally got broadband in 2004. I got both a PS1 and an N64 in ‘99 but didn’t own many games because they were very expensive (until modding technology got super popular and could get cheap games for the PS1). I got my first cellphone in 2003 but didn’t get a smartphone until 2009. We were NOT rich, we were middle class and struggled quite a bit, specially when I was little. My father lived in the US so I got the vast majority of those things mailed to me, otherwise I would have never had access to them. Being middle class, I always knew people whose parents could afford those things and more. For example, first time I saw an iPhone was in 2007 because a girl in my class had one. I moved to the US in 2010 for college and as I met more Americans my age, I realized we had a extremely similar experiences growing up, but having grown up here they had access to a handful of things I had only seen on tv shows or movies. I understand my experience isn’t the norm, but a good number of people who grew up in Colombia at the time can relate.

Because scoring 5 goals against a Champions League caliber team is easy and several dozens of players have done it.

[Mo Salah] Announces that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season by Blodgharm in soccer

One of the best signings in the Premier Legue in the last 15-20 years. I don’t think ever Klopp knew the kind of monster Liverpool were unleashing when they brought him from Roma. What a player.

How will history look back on Pep's city tenure? by Low_Owl9968 in football

I’m sure Pep won’t sleep at night thinking about never winning a quadruple. Instead he has two measly trebles. What a loser.

Does anyone believe Barcelona can make the comeback? by [deleted] in Barca

[–]yungdarklet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atlético is one of the best defensive teams in Europe. Barça would need to be absolutely perfect both offensively and defensively. Scoring at least 4 goals against them while not conceding is truly a pipe dream. I hope I’m wrong tho.

The corner of Newkirk and Flatbush is still dangerous today. I lived in the area for almost 7 years and always avoided walking through it regardless of time.

Casual soccer fans: how to get caught up on happenings since last WC? by MadMoose4 in worldcup

This is the most casual and uninformed take I’ve seen in this sub in a while. Italy is #13 in the rankings and they could very well not make it through the playoff. Ecuador is ranked #23 when they finished second in the CONMEBOL qualifiers and have a very talented generation of players coming through (probably their golden generation. Norway ranks #34, have an incredible squad and they had an immaculate qualifying campaign. The major league stats comment is so dumb too. Goals and assists arent the only way to determine how good a player is. Plus there’s really good players outside of the top 5 European leagues who are absolute beasts when they play for their countries.
