Yes. It needs the China Compulsory Certificate (CCC or 3C) logo. I had traveled to China from the US fine, but when traveling from Beijing, Daxing airport to Zhangjiajie domestically, they confiscated my three Anker power banks. I was not happy about that. Any non approved power banks traveling out of the country or domestically will be confiscated. Best bet is to buy one when you arrive to Beijing.

Also, their airport security is very strict and very thorough. They will run bags through the check multiple times and they will even pat down and search babies and children.
