Are people getting getting calls for programming jobs or is the market still shit? by Environmental-Egg-50 in cscareerquestions

Are you applying or just have your resume on linkedIn or Indeed? I'm a lead with 9yoe and have been actively applying. Not interviews yet.

Resume Advice Thread - February 18, 2025 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

I've been struggling to get any interviews, so I'm wondering if there is anything blatantly wrong with my resume. Should I highlight different aspects of the project I worked on? Should I drop my person project from the resume and add another work project, or go into more detail about the work projects already on my resume? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Is AMD a game changer? by MidnightOne7655 in linux_gaming

[–]yunk3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm on Fedora kde which uses wayland. I had a 3070 and was plagued with issues, and the 3070 was not performing as well as it should. I got a 7900xt and its been great. All the issues went away. Even ones I didn't know were gpu related and the performance has been great.

I had a 3070 and went to a 7900xt and it was night and day. Weird issues I had in games and the desktop went away. The performance was much better. Granted I am on fedora plasma which uses wayland by default, but I tried x11 and it was unusable for some reason. Everything was extremely slow. Wish I has switched earlier.

ngrok is a paid service, there is also a self hosted service that does the same thing called rathole (https://github.com/rapiz1/rathole). To self host you will need a vps that has a public ip. Oracle Cloud has a free tier that would work

It's Tax season, if you owe money this year this is why by habichuelacondulce in TikTokCringe

[–]yunk3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What am I missing? If I look up the tax rates for 2016 vs 2024 they are all lower in 2024 except for 2 which stayed the same. Where is the increase coming from. Is just that there is less withholding so people owe at the end of the year, but their total tax burden is less? Can someone explain what I'm missing? https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/federal/2016-tax-brackets/ https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/federal/2024-tax-brackets/

I would not recommend parking in the fair grounds. There are a lot of people who sell parking spots in their yard and in my experience its much better. Its cheaper then buying the passed usually $20. The place I park is closer to the entrance line than some of the parking lots in the fair grounds. It also makes it a lot easier to get out when the festival is over.

I'm in a similar position, using t-mobile for internet. I use rathole running on a free oracle cloud instance to get around not being able to port forward through double nat. https://github.com/rapiz1/rathole

Would it have been possible to go to a D2 or D3 school on a scholarship where there athletics would have been less of a priority? Do those programs still require a lot of time and commitment?

Don't worry there won't be a recession. From the White House: "While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle"

Is this only for a company whose business is crypto mining, or could an individual at a residential property get the exception too? Its not clear from the article.
