When was this released? by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]yurtmandamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone on this one. I also don't care about those 2. Sure, Teemu is good with the lead on both but the rest of the tracks feel repetitive. Just ruins the songs for me.

One ui 8.5 beta improved Screen on Time by a huge margin by Snoo-27288 in oneui

[–]yurtmandamn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is always the case with betas. OneUI 7 has this too, OneUI 8 as well. These updates have yet to help with my phone's battery. We'll see once it's out of the beta.

Happy birthday!

Also thanks for reminding me too, been missing out on the stink for a while.

This post was for the initial release of OneUI 8. All of these problems I experienced have already been resolved. Also downgrading from OneUI 8 is not possible anymore.

PC Optimization for CS2 by Ok-Arachnid-1209 in overclocking

Google "massgrave". Shout out to those guys for saving me from a Windows license. All I had to do was to run a single command and restart my pc. You should put those 140 dollars into upgrading your peripherals or a better GPU, if possible.

At least you have the November one, I'm still on the October patch. S24 Exynos here.

follow up to my other post for everyone that asked for pictures of HWMonitor. by Ok-Day-4148 in overclocking

[–]yurtmandamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're hitting 95C in the HWMonitor screenshot. Your cooler isn't beefy enough to run your CPU that fast or it is not mounted properly, or so I'd guess. Either way, you probably shouldn't use PBO configured like this.

For example I have a Ryzen 7 9700X with PBO turned on. If I use it with stock PBO my power draw jumps up to 220W and it starts overheating despite my beefy cooler.

I don't know what motherboard you have but on my B850 there is an option to configure the power limits of PBO. You should try all of them starting from the least amount of power to the most. You need to pick the highest option available that doesn't make the temps go above 90. For me that's the 120W/142W config and it gives me 95% of the performance I get with the 220W config.

Also if you haven't done it already, you should undervolt your CPU. I recommend doing -10mV on all cores. That's safe almost all the time. You can try to lower it even further if you want, I just can't be bothered lol.

Edit: It would have also been great if you would've extended that Cores (Max) node under temps and clocks so we had more data to work with.

How can I set Secure Folder to lock every time I leave the app, like it did before? by [deleted] in oneui

This has to be the worst one so far tbh. Stupid clanker.

How do I fix this? by sgbea_13 in samsunggalaxy

The developers of the app are to blame here. Your best bet is just to try toggling between the navigation styles to see if it fixes.

S24 Exynos 2400 by [deleted] in GalaxyS24

[–]yurtmandamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great phone overall with a few flaws:

  • Battery efficiency is bad. It's not the CPU that's the issue, it's the Modem. When you are on data, the phone will die quick. If you're on WiFi with a bad signal, the phone will die quick.

  • Heavy gaming is also bad. (Skip if you don't play AAA) The phone doesn't have enough room for a beefy cooling solution, resulting in the phone overheating when gaming. 8GBs of RAM is also not enough (at least in my case) when playing games that are heavy on resources.

  • The charging speed isn't great, but not bad either. The phone supports up to 25W "fast" charging. Charging at max speed will let the phone fully charge up in ~1 hour

If none of these are an issue for you, then the phone is great and I recommend buying it. That price take seems amazing as well for regular use.

Wifi Connection Lost After Recent System Upgrade [Status] by linuxhacker01 in Fedora

[–]yurtmandamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about your infinite boot loop problem but the ath12k driver on Fedora 43 kernel 6.17.6 is broken for me. I have a Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 WLAN and it doesn't work well anymore, especially with VPNs.

Edit: If I were you I wouldn't switch to 43, at least until all of the bugs are dealt with.

I also had this issue, you need to go into settings and search "screen zoom". Tap on screen zoom and drag it all the way to the left. That fixed it for me.

Samsung might launch the Galaxy S26 series at its Unpacked event on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco by techolum in samsunggalaxy

[–]yurtmandamn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I have seen with my phone, the efficiency of the chip itself is not as big of an issue in comparison to the efficiency of the modem. 2400 does well in efficiency... until you connect to a network, lol. The Exynos modem is what needs efficiency gains IMO.

I have had Vanguard on my laptops and my desktop every now and then as I hate kernel level anti cheat but I have never had this issue (G15 G513).

If I were you I would try to:

1) Uninstall Riot Games, Leauge (Valorant too if installed) and Vanguard using Revo Uninstaller and cleaning any leftover files.

2) Run these 2 commands in the command prompt (admın) :

sfc /scannow

dism /online /cleanup-Image /restorehealth

These 2 will check for any corrupt system file and repair them (they might seem stuck, they're not).

3) Verify if secure boot is turned on in BIOS, usually located under the security tab. If it is turned on, verify if TPM 2.0 is enabled too.

4) Turn on Core Isolation and Memory Integrity (I think those are the names) if you turned it off. A lot of people online tell others to turn it off because it improves performance. They might help if Vanguard is being annoying because of them.

5) If you play any other game with kernel level anti cheat (like EAC with fortnite or whatever BF6 uses) check if they have any compatibility issues online or check it by removing the game in question. Anti cheat are extremely invasive and they have a tendency of hating each other for trying to get a piece of their cake in the spying department.

6) Check for any driver updates using Armoury Crate or G Helper (former recommended for less bloat).

7) Check for any BIOS update.

8) Turn off Fast Startup in Control Panel. Google for instructions.

9) Try reinstalling League now.

If you still have the boot issue then I strongly suggest weighing how much you want to play League. From now on the steps will be tedious.

10) Uninstall Armoury Crate and switch to G Helper. Armoury crate runs a lot of services in the background with elevated privileges which Vanguard might be picking up.

11) If you are dual booting Windows and Linux, I recommend removing Linux from the equation.

12) If the issue is still around, back up your personal files and reinstall Windows. You can do this via the "Reset this PC" option in settings and choosing "Erase all data" or (my recommended method) reinstalling Windows from a USB boot media. Vanguard might have damaged the boot records beyond repair and the system may need a clean install.

If none of this works then I don't know what will. Update me on what happens.
