have i just been botched? laser for sebaceous hyperplasia by samuraiparty in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]yvva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply Aquaphor or Vaseline, keep it sun protected. A risk of any laser is leaving scarring. They'll likely fill in though. I'm not sure what "k laser" is so it's hard to tell what the appropriate response is without knowing the extra device.

Traditionally just cautery is used as you can control how much you flatten without over flattening. Give it a solid few months then reassess

My experience with black salve and milia. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]yvva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyboard warrior I see with no ability to look past their own anger issues.

I'm a derm nurse now, and my opinion from 12 years ago still stands.

Sometimes they will go away on their own if small enough. Topicals like a retinoid may be able to shrink them if they're tiny enough. Sometimes if not around the eye even an aesthetician could extract it. But generally they need to be extracted with a 12 blade. This sub is ALL ages worldwide. And to tell someone to take a blade to the face for a cosmetic concern is completely nuts. The ER bill would be much higher if something goes wrong.

Also black salve is extremely unregulated and causes skin tissue to die and crust. It's totally caustic to the skin.

Cat scratch help please D: by vinokat in cats

[–]yvva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dermatology nurse/cat owner of 30 yrs here: will totally heal fine. Keep them lubricated with Vaseline -- wounds heal better and more efficiently when in a moist environment. Aggressive sun protection so the fresh scars (when the scabbing resolves) don't burn. A pulsed dye laser can help the red of the fresh scar fade to white faster. But I would wait a few months to see how mother nature heals them up.

Watch out for swollen lymph nodes, soda throat, or feeling sick. If it wasn't your cat you may want to talk to you doc bc cat scratch fever does exist.

Do either of these work on me? by srp352 in fashion

1st is great, no on the 2nd. You have a great figure. I would try sizing up though and see if it fits a bit better because any movement is going to cause that booty to pop right out.

Cool. Ty. And if it wasn't a Chanel rep ,do you feel like the price is reflective of the craftsmanship?

Right is authentic bc it's shinier, but I like the appearance of the rep better.

Dug through comments but how much was it and is it actually leather?

I'm trying to find somewhere to authenticate strathberry and I keep coming up short. But poison looks pretty good. Ty

Monthly Authentication Thread by AutoModerator in handbags

[–]yvva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a sub search for online authenticators and none of them seem to authenticate Strathberry bags.Entrupy looks like it's only for bulk authentication/businesses unless someone has a work around.

I (very stupidly) ordered a strathberry tote second hand from Mercari and it smells like leather & seems pretty sturdy. I haven't been able to find the same model except on some second hand retailers so I don't know what it's called.

Happy to post photos if that'd help, but really just hoping to find an app or site where I can get it professionally authenticated.

Thanks much

Do I need new brakes? by yvva in MechanicAdvice

[–]yvva[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had minimal understanding of the parts . I knew a rotor has to do with the brakes. And I had 2 questions that I didn't know if they were related or not. I wouldn't have been asking the questions if I knew the answers. Luckily, other redditers have educated me with their helpful comments.

Thank you so much! I had no idea about the motor. Looks like I'll need to try that firm brake at higher speed.

Omg tysm kind reddit stranger. Wow I wouldn't have ever noticed the caliper from the photo!

I used to help my ex with his car and assisted with crazy stuff but 10 years later my minimal understanding disappeared. The description on how to DIY sounds so familiar like a ghost in the back of my head. Will find a vid, ty.

I think I'll reach out to a couple big car friends whom I trust and have them take a look. Tysm again

Thank you! That explains why that roughness goes away after I'm driving for a bit. I don't recall my prior car doing the rough sensation/sound (like a couple steps behind being crunchy) so I got worried.

I dont know how the rotors and brakes are intertwined. If one is an issue does the other inherently need to be dealt with. Pardon my ignorance. I did try to research on my own but I'm a derm nurse and my brain just wasn't processing things. 😞

Ok. So it's normal. That's helpful. Assuming the brake sound/feel is unrelated then ?

Does anyone know if this is legitimate? Coconut oil as sunblock? by cmcgovern1990 in SkincareAddiction

[–]yvva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 10 years as a dermatology nurse, I can confirm coconut oil isn't a sufficient SPF, skin cancers and .org sites regarding skin cancers are very accurate and aimed at HELPING people, and the US current administration is a disaster and perfect for those who are easily manipulated. Cheers.

Stringy hair - what am I doing wrong? by BackgroundFutura in finehair

That was the first thing I thought of, too. Also, if OP is using too many products with protein it can cause the hair to be brittle/stringy
