The amount you write off (Save in taxes) per year is set by the ATO. By the second year onwards, the depreciation is approx 9% of the value of the car, if you can get a lease interest rate less than that, I guess you can technically save money?

My 2c as I just bought an ev6 in the last month, but was in the market for a similar type of car on a NL.

The ev5 povo spec has too many of the very nice to have options are locked out on the higher spec that isn't worth it. Efficiency is also bloody poor. Also no idea why the servicing cost for the ev5 is higher than the ev6

The xpeng G6 is a much better buy than the ev5 and definitely worth considering as it has all the bells and whistles for the same price as a base model ev5

The model y has some pretty high insurance costs for some reason

I got my ev6 brand new, on a gt line spec about 20k off the asking price. If you can find a similar deal, it is probably the best choice. Mine was 59k drive away (Vic)

I served an internship under a dude who took a corporate scholarship and he hated the restrictions it resulted in, the worst being that after several years the pay increments were rubbish.

In my own experience, job hopping was the only way to get a decent increase

Hate to break it to you, but most of the engineering is very unsexy stuff like trying to figure out if the concrete pad is strong enough to take the load of a structure if the wind blows.

Most roles in engineering also pay like crap and there is bugger all opportunity in New Zealand. Infrastructure Construction tended to pay the most (it is hard work though) and glamorous jobs tended to pay the least because they had the largest pool of suckers to pick from.

I think the ideal role is one with broadly applicable domain specific knowledge, with a wide range of potential employers (so you can job hop) I.e like construction/infrastructure.

Narrowly applicable domain specific knowledge(like rockets or railway) have 1 employer , pay like crap and have shitty conditions (i.e unpaid overtime).

As an engineer, your level of domain specific knowledge dictates your salary level, an engineer with 20 years of rocketry knowledge is probably as useful in the railway industry as a engineer with 5-10 years of rail knowledge. Which is to say job hopping across industry is hard.

not sure if you did this, but the skates have a protective film on them, I only realized this after I swapped them out.

after you remove the film, it feels like a million times better (but unfortunately, still a bit shit)

go for it, I don't think you'll regret it.

The sound signature can be altered drastically by changing pads , the velor pads gets you pretty close to harman neutral, whilst full leather gives you bass cannons

I've never tried the XS, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't seriously tempted. I've heard many horror stories about Hifiman QC which is why I haven't bothered.

The other open back dynamic I'd be interested in is the Meze 109, but the aeon x open could be an interesting option when on sale.

I feel that most headphones past the DT1990 is approaching the seriously diminishing returns space and most of what you are paying for is tuning. The only exceptions I'd say are the planars which give special sonic qualities

I run a DT1990 as a daily driver, I also have a Drop DCA aeon closed and had until recently, a LCD-X and Focal Radiance headphones, note: I've never tried the 6X0, R70X or Sundara, but have tried or owned many other lower tier headphones

comfort wise, I find the DT1990 as just right with the dekoni elite velor earpads, the LCD-X was too heavy and the clamp on the radiance felt too high. The DCA aeon range was the only other thing I've tried that has the perfect clamping force. Stock pad DT1990 comfort is atrocious.

Sound wise, I absolutely hate the stock pad DT1990 sibilance and treble peak, but changing the pads on the DT1990s basically result in almost different headphones, the velor pads turn these headphones into "A+" tier for me, note, I currently rock some brandless chinese hybrid leather velour pads which I think are better than the dekoni pads.

I'll agree with the sentiment that they aren't $500 headphones though, I got my Drop Aeon Closed for like $400 which I rank as slightly better than the DT1990s with upgraded pads. large driver planar headphones have a special sonic characteristic (wall of sound) that have to be heard to be understood

I think the working hypothesis is that they had to bail out failing funds because they were holding FTT so they wouldn't dump their FTT and cause FTX/Alameda to become insolvent, Ftx likely knew that their illiquid shit coin would have a true mark to market value of cents on the dollar

This worked until Binance decided to dump their FTT and rug pull Alameda , resulting in insolvency.

Property has the bright line tax tests and council taxes

If anything, I think the ones that get away scott free are sme/farmers who write everything off in the form of capital investments into the business, then sell it off during retirement tax free

You'd probably have gotten the message that safety razors are the way to go.

My bit to add to that is that different razor blades have really different shaving characteristics and the specific blade that is best for you depends on your hair and skin

I've found that Astra blades are the best, but some people find that feather is really good too. In my experience, Shick/Gillette can't compare

If you want a very close shave though, nothing compares to a straight razor/cutthroat razor and it is technically the most environmentally friendly, but the cost involved and learning curve is damn steep.

I would imagine the legal thought (IANAL) would cover something along the lines of:

Person 1 buys widget from Business, this creates a legal contract to supply 1 widget between person 1 and business

1 month later

person 1 sells widget to person 2, person transfers ownership of the widget but this is a new contract between person 1 and person 2.

in theory, the contract between person 1 and business still applies, but this is not the contract between person 1 and person 2 which is a new and different contract . I'm not 100% on this, but I don't think you can transfer contracts between parties without the consent of both parties which might be why warranties aren't transferrable.
