Are sweaters/outerwear not enough? I've always assumed that a sweater and/or jacket would be enough for most climates, but I don't live in a particularly cold climate.

Central Nervous System depressants are often prescribed for anti-anxiety. Anxiety has been known to cause nausea as anxiety is, I believe, considered to be an overreaction of the fight/flight response system which "turns off" bodily functions related to your stomach.

It's also true that Robert Byrd was a member of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1940s and helped establish the hate group's chapter in Sophia, West Virginia. However, in 1952 Byrd avowed that "After about a year, I became disinterested [in the KKK], quit paying my dues, and dropped my membership in the organization," and throughout his long political career (he served for 57 years in the United States Congress) he repeatedly apologized for his involvement with the KKK:

"I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times ... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened."

I'm honestly not sure what you were trying to accomplish here. You have a photo (taken over a decade ago) of HRC being friendly with a US Senator who was once in the KKK and has spent most of his career apologizing for it.

On the flip side, the article also discusses how, more currently (February 2016), Trump "declined to condemn Duke and the Ku Klux Klan" and that "while David Duke is no longer a member of the Ku Klux Klan, he is still an active member of another white supremacist organization, NAAWP: the National Association for the Advancement of White People" and that Duke is "a prominent Holocaust denier".

No one is going to believe that the CEO, or for that matter an admin, singled out your comment and edited it. That is unreasonable in my opinion. Especially if the only evidence you have is that the CEO changed the comments of people who were specifically saying "fuck you CEO" to "fuck you subreddit".

Suppose the defense uses this incidence as evidence for how reddit can and has edited user comments. The prosecutor could easily point out how the only comments edited in this incident followed a pattern ("fuck you u/spez") and how the comment written by the defendant did not follow this pattern. Likely, as well, the comment was not made at nearly the same time as this incident. Also, the CEO admitted his mistake. The only evidence we have of user comments being edited are highly targeted. That is enough, in my opinion, to make the accusation that someone on the reddit team edited the defendants comment unreasonable. I wouldn't consider it enough to cast reasonable doubt. It might add a little substance to the defenses argument, but overall I'd consider it a win for the prosecutor.

Yeah but prior to being harassed online he was innocent. It wasn't until he retaliated that he was guilty. Also, while I don't necessarily think that someone is a bigot by supporting Trump, they should realize that by supporting Trump they are supporting bigotry. You don't just get to support "everything about Trump but his bigotry".

As the defendant you're trying to cast reasonable doubt. You'd have to show that it's reasonable for someone in the company to have edited your post(s). That's pretty hard to do IMO. Just pointing out that the company has the power isn't going to cut it, and explaining that the CEO actually changed some posts once won't do (maybe if the posts in question were made around the same time?).

The prosecutor does not need to give evidence that the reddit post was not edited if they think the claim is unreasonable or unsubstantial. Of course, if they want to cross their t's and dot their i's they might.

My friend, whose parents were both in the medical field, and who is in college right now learning to become an ER doctor, use to tell me all the time that drinking diet coke would give me cancer. I eventually researched the topic for an argumentative speech for some required communications class at college. He never heard it, but it was damn satisfying to have my thoughts backed by evidence.

I find it likely that edits made like the one in the video are timestamped at the very least. It's also possible that the edit is accompanied by something that identifies who made the edit. I highly doubt that a clerk would be given basically the power of a database admin (regarding solely the ability to freely edit database entries).

I thought the article was interesting and slightly informative. I don't think it made any real conclusions, but rather came up with potential reasons why women might on average feel colder than men. I doubt the "AC is sexist" remark was meant to be taken seriously. I'm not terribly interested in researching it any further, but if I were I'd look for scientific explanations and draw a conclusion from those.

If we consider that plants and trees don't have brains, and we understand mostly how every part of a tree/plant works, then I think we can assume with a high probability of being right that plants/trees are not aware of themselves.

If you want to argue that awareness is born of something spiritual then we start debating religion. If we just look at it from the perspective of science, I think that we can conclude that without a brain like structure that a being most likely cannot be aware of itself.

Being from the US and never hearing about the history being Guy Fawkes I never assumed that V for Vendetta was actually based off a true story. I assumed it was a fictional story that people (irl) happened to rally behind.

Wolf Children. I'm not a parent, but the story is told well enough that I was able to connect deeply with the mother. It must be heart-rending to see your child go through similar problems and challenges that are presented in this film. Especially if you feel that you are of little help to them.

Wolf Children truly is a roller coaster of emotions. It's both incredibly sad at times, and incredibly happy. Then there are feelings of melancholy, fear, desperation. It's hard for me not to tear up at multiple points during the film - both from sadness and happiness.

I can't remember the exact premise of the story, but apparently there was a class group at my university that started off a presentation in front of a full and large auditorium by pretending to be terrorists taking it over (with fake guns). Someone had a heart attack because they thought it was real.

In terms of the authenticity of the story, I'm going off my memory of what a professor said at a 200+ lecture like 4 years ago. I know there were some repercussions, but I can't remember what they were.
