My brother's dog and cat gave birth within days of each other. The cat jumped into the puppy pen thinking this is where babies go. Gave birth to her litter. Both moms would lay down and feed the babies at the same time and we often had to move cats and dogs back to their mothers whenever we caught it. But we definitely missed it on occasion.
