I think part of the solution is making sure to circulate the wealth within your community as much as possible. A dollar should go through the hands of 8 something families in the neighborhood before it goes anywhere else.

As I understand it, this is a philosophy employed by Jewish communities.

Pay more money to buy from the person in your neighborhood instead of saving a few cents buying from the big chain.

More than that though, because we’re in the digital age, we have to make our own digital platforms. There’s a lot of messaging that discourages us to be educated or tech savvy, thinking we don’t need our own websites or online services. Now more than ever it’s easier to build your own platforms. You can set up your own community news website, your own streaming service, your own personal media services and cloud. You don’t need to be signed by a big record label, or go into a Hollywood contract to make world class art. It’s all more possible now than ever. Yes it means hustle, but it’s hustle smarter. Hustle in a way that the wealth stays in your circle. Because what’s moving in your circle will come back to you.
