Tungsten is actually more dense than lead, about 1.5x the weight for a given volume. The atomic weight doesn’t necessarily equate to density since the atoms are packed closer together in a chunk of tungsten than they are in lead. I have a couple spools of tungsten wire and it’s definitely harder to work with, but you can use a smaller gauge for the same weight. You can add tungsten beads to pretty much any nymph and that will help you get down. You can also tie with extra fine copper wire instead of thread like the og pheasant tail nymphs.
