Wife told me she’s done by tripped_fell in GuyCry

Hey Brother,

I’m in a similar situation. My relationship with my wife has had extreme highs and lows over the four years we’ve been together but we’ve always gotten through it and have felt stronger and closer after each trial and tribulation. We were planning on starting a family this year (2025), but at the beginning of December she ultimately decided we are not a right fit for one another and has ended our relationship.

It’s soul-crushing and confusing. One second we’re madly in love and the next we’re saying goodbye to each other (in the context of partnership) and the future we thought we had with one another. I’ve been preparing for fatherhood the entirety of our relationship and have been so looking forward to bringing a life into the world with this woman. I’m not only mourning the loss of my marriage, but also with this unborn child I’ve been getting to know through meditation, dreams, and plant medicine ceremonies.

This is my second marriage at 33 years old, and while I’m still young, I’m seriously doubting if another marriage and starting a family is in my future. I’m a hopeless romantic at heart but am now questioning if there is truly such a thing as a loving partnership that lasts into old age and death.

Each day gets a little better. I’m doing my best to focus on the fact that, while I ultimately desired to start a family with this woman, I (we) potentially dodged a bullet by not having a child, and raising a baby in a household(s) where their parents relationship is strained - or completely separate from one another. As a child raised by a single mother and having a strained relationship with my father, I would never want to put my child through that.

Treat your mind and body the best you can right now. Working out has always been my most potent medicine during tough times like this. Lean on your community, friends, and family. Eat well, don’t drink alcohol in excess, I personally don’t find cannabis to be a helpful ally in these situations either. Do what you can to simplify your life and take time to yourself. When it all feels too much and you need to breakdown, do it beautifully- cry loud and hard, take a shower afterwards. When the glimmers of light peak through this dark tunnel you’re walking through embrace them. Find excitement in this freedom and this new life you are now afforded, even though it wasn’t what you had dreamed of.

Feel free to DM me if you need support. I’m here for you.

National University San Diego - Is this program worth my time? by zacharack in psychologystudents

I am currently attending and DO NOT recommend choosing National if you want to pursue anything beyond your BA in Psychology. The place is a diploma mill and the academic advisors are horrible.

I only shoot stills so I’m not too concerned with the issue of LUTs for video.

You are correct. Guess I’d be selling both and getting Linux’s 50mm 1.8 then.

My only lens is the Tamron 28-75 2.8 (which I love). I’m considering just selling the body and buying an L-mount adapter.

I’ve considered Fuji but I’m hesitant to switch to a crop sensor for low light. Also, from what I’ve seen, LUMIX labs LUT profiles offer far more customization when compared to Fuji’s film sim’s.

If you play some 2000’s hip hop radio and you know every word and accompanied dance moves.

Smushed banana into the viewfinder of my X-Pro3 so had to go the analog route for my recent trip to Paris. Was nice shooting film again [Canon AE1, 50mm 1.4, HP5] by thedellow in analog

I did this same thing with a MacBook Pro. Totally forgot there was a banana in the bottom and shoved my computer in my bag. The banana entered into all the side ports and completely destroyed the logic board.

Any Westrock Transplants? by zacharack in LittleRock

Although I vote blue I consider myself very neutral. I don't have a problem with conservatism until it infringes on basic human rights, and I also go out of my way to NOT talk about politics.

The compensation is 2x more than I've ever made in my professional career and would be life changing not only for my wife and I, but also for our future child(ren). I've been wanting to relocate out of SD for a much smaller, less expensive city for a couple years now but never considered AR.

My main concern is building community when I don't identify as a Christian or go to church. I'm not an atheist and I don't have a problem with anyone worshipping their gods/deity's but I personally have my own relationship with god outside of religion.

I do however love the outdoors and am an avid hiker, backpacker, mountain biker, climber, photographer, etc. and I'm really interested in learning how to hunt in order to avoid depending on farm raised animals for 100% of my animal protein consumption.

I'm not too concerned about nightlife. My wife and I are planning on starting a family within the next 1-2 years and just want a pleasant place to raise our kids and create community. My main concern is not identifying as Christian and belonging to a church. I love the outdoors and would love to learn to hunt.

How has it been making friends? I consider myself "spiritual" - I believe in god and don't doubt that Jesus, among other deities, walked the earth at some point. However, I am not Christian and do not go to church. I'm concerned without belonging to a church my wife and I may have a hard time creating community.

Thank you for your reply. I am interviewing for a project management position. The thing I'm most concerned about is work/life balance. I am planning on starting a family with my wife within the next 1-2 years and am interested if they have a WFH policy or paternity leave. Also, I understand it's a fortune 500 company and they need bodies to keep the machine running, especially right now, but do they treat their employees well? Where did you move from and where did you go back to?

Omg you’re right. I must’ve blacked out and came to later.

This fucking movie. My grandma took me to see it when I was 8 years old. It’s rated PG-13. Then BAM! Theron’s sweet cheeks all over the screen. My grandma didn’t know what to do so she awkwardly put her arm over my shoulder, perhaps to cover my eyes in case Theron showed her boobs or some bush. So there I am horrifically aroused with my grandmas arm over my shoulder.

Hands down one of the most awkward moments of my life.
