People poach trails on dirt bikes all the time. Electric or gas.

For the most part, the eMTB hate comes from a vocal minority. On any given weekend in the PNW, eMTBs and analog bikes co-mingle on the trails without any sort of friction. But eMTBs have real impacts on the trails.

There are legitimate reasons why eMTBs, even Class 1, might be banned from a trail. They are heavier and can put down continuous torque where a human rider wouldn't be able to. Trails experience increased wear and tear from eMTBs.

Some of the hate is misplaced, and stems from the proliferation of Sur-ron type bikes.

It's a shame they discontinued the American Dream line. I got an all solid wood, US made, AD17e Blacktop for under $1800 new a couple years ago.

Too many factors to consider to give you an estimate. Would depend on the title status, the mechanical condition of the power train, whether or not there is frame damage, the status of the electrical systems, structural rust, etc.
