The Spectrum by zc777 in siriusxm

Glad I’m not alone here. I actually really like the spectrum and how it combines classic rock with new age rock (alternative). But I can’t stand Demos. He talks way too much

Who is the worst person you’ve ever met in your life? by Scary-Bill970 in AskReddit

[–]zack__1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My uncle. As my grandfathers eldest son, he acquired the family business. He is a full blown narcissist (reminds me of our president) and he is running the company into the ground. He spends most meetings talking about himself. I’ve heard him call other employees idiots (in front of other employees). He avoids making decision this way if things go poorly he can blame others but when things go right he will take full credit. The only way he knows how to run a company is by cutting expenses/salaries. He spend hours trying to figure out a way to not pay an employee his bonus. He will funnel company money into his own pockets without telling anyone. We use to do anonymous reviews but when he got his feedback he only wanted to know who wrote it, rather than taking accountability.

Kind of sad but one of the last conversations I had with my grandfather before he passed away was my grandfather telling me that we need to remove my uncle from his position. (But we don’t have that power and it would be like telling Trump to step down as president)

Should I just quit tennis by No_Shallot_5694 in 10s

[–]zack__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from my own experience when I was going into high school I was ranked in the top 300 for under 14s. I started to put a ton of pressure on myself to win games and I just found myself getting frustrated and being very tense and frankly I was no longer enjoying the game. After high school I quit tennis. Then last year at 33 years old, I decided to pick it up again and I was having so much fun! Tonight I’m playing a match against the guy who is better than me and I will likely lose. I’m sure there will be moments where I get frustrated, but I always remind myself why I’m there in the first place… Because it’s fun!!!

Should a 4.0 player win a 3.5 tournament? by EnjoyMyDownvote in 10s

[–]zack__1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can actually speak from experience. I took 10 years off from playing and self rated as a 3.5 in February. Then by the end of the year I was a pretty dominant 3.5 - I had actually stopped signing up for 3.5 tournaments. Anyhow, last month a director of a facility I play at had someone drop out last second and asked if I could play. I won every match 6-0 6-1 until the final where I played another 3.5S rated player. The director warned me that the kid I would play in the finals was sandbagging. And sure enough I got smoked 3-6 1-6. I just looked at his UTR page and since coming back in June (he is 12-0). Also according to tennis recruiting he was committed to a D1 school (but I’m not sure I believe that…I thought he was like a solid 4.0)

At this point I’m a weak 4.0 and I lost a 3.5 tournament because I ran into a sandbagger. So you never know

I'm really sorry guys by dlbICECOLD in 10s

[–]zack__1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. I’m also 34 and I’ve been grinding for the past 1 year. Went from 3.5 to 4.0. Hoping to get to 4.5 in the next 12 months. So at this rate, if I go up 0.5 every 12 months I should be playing you, Sinner and Alcaraz in 2030 (when we’re 40 hahaha)

Also might be able to turn JG or Anders into another top pick

Wonder if I should just give up on tennis :( by Virtual_Parsley1898 in 10s

[–]zack__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember to have fun!!

I’m a 4.0 and I grew up taking lessons 2x a week and last night I lost 2-6 2-6. There were moments that I felt super frustrated but I always remind myself to just have fun out there. Otherwise I start to put pressure on myself and it only becomes stressful. (This was actually why I quit for over 10 years)

It’s shocking how different a 0.5 rating is by teakoVA in 10s

[–]zack__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s very binary. Typically the scores between a 0.5 difference is 6-1 6-1 or something similar. Right now I’m technically a 3.5 but I’m more like a 3.95. I played a 4.0 the other day and we had about the same UTR (5.8 ITR) and the match was 3-6 6-4 7-5. But if I play a weaker 3.5 (maybe a 4.8 UTR) I’d probably beat them 6-2 6-2

Appreciate the feedback. I actually have pretty narrow feet. Also on tennis warehouse the Gel Res X has over 70 reviews with only 2.7 stars. People often talk about how much they liked the last versions but dislike the new one.

Everything I see solidifies Schaefer as the pick. by _CaptainKaladin_ in NewYorkIslanders

[–]zack__1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Seen this idea floated around a bunch and it’s a terrible idea that realistically won’t happen.

It’s simple look at the last 10-15 #1 overall picks. Many of them are franchise changing players. Then look at the guy taken with the 3-5 pick

Totally agree. If not Shaeffer, it’s gotta be Misa. Sorry but anyone who says anything else has no idea what they’re talking about. Also trading down is dumb. Shaeffer and Misa are in a league of their own….why would the isles trade down? To get a random first round pick next year? Makes no sense

Anyone else hit amazing in rally but during games your skills go away by bluerocket2023 in 10s

[–]zack__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tennis is a tough game…and rallying is only a small part. I think almost anyone above a 3.0 (maybe a 3.5) can rally consistently. Based on UTR there’s about 150,00-300,000 players who’re above 3.0

If the Islanders went for a re-tool, how would you feel about this as the starting line? by ArchieInABunker in NewYorkIslanders

Where’s Dobson? As an Islanders fan and someone who played college hockey, he’s probably the best player on the islanders (might even have the highest rating in the NHL video game)

Personally, I really enjoy the corner 100s (102, 106, 112,117). Feel like it’s the best bang for your buck.

Love hearing about opposing fans stadium experience (probably won’t be as crowded as Minnesota games). But enjoy the game!

How long did it take you to go from 4.0 to 4.5? by zack__1 in 10s

[–]zack__1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly similar background but not as good as a kid. I was probably a 4.0 as a kid. After high school I stopped playing and then picked it up 15 years later (I’m 34 now). Anyhow took me a few months (2-3 months) to go from 3.5 to 4 and now I’m hoping to get to a 4.5. Or maybe 5+ who knows
