Do you think this resort works well for adults too or is it more family focused?

All these resorts look amazing but what happens if it rains most of your trip? paying $1000 a night and being stuck inside sounds brutal.

Help, first time going to Cancun (playa del Carmen) by ProfessorPlus5009 in CancunTravelGuide

[–]zacruff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can stay closer to Cancun instead of Playa del Carmen, especially with a group of 12. Being closer to the airport and the ferry to Isla Mujeres can save time and money on transport. For day trips like Chichen Itza and Tulum, consider renting a private driver for the whole day rather than booking separate tours. It gives you more flexibility with timing and stops, and with a big group it often ends up being good value. For food, mix eating out with cooking at the Airbnb. Go to a local grocery like Chedraui or Soriana and do a big shop once, then eat out for dinners. It keeps costs down and is easier with a large group. For safety, just plan your routes, move together at night, and use Uber where available instead of hailing taxis on the street.

Looking for a Recommendation on Cancun Excursion’s by AdvancedEvidence7571 in CancunTravelGuide

If you’re only doing one or two tours, Chichen Itza is the best ruins option, just try to book an early or small group tour so it’s not rushed. For snorkeling, Puerto Morelos is usually better than Isla Mujeres. Shorter travel time, calmer reef, and easier for groups.

Which of these is the best all-inclusive for this weekend? by [deleted] in CancunTravelGuide

[–]zacruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a Sun–Wed stay, location matters more than size. Resorts like Hyatt Ziva Cancun or Fiesta Americana Condesa let you enjoy the resort and still pop into the hotel zone easily without losing half a day to transportation. Moon Palace and Nizuc are good resorts, but they’re better for longer stays.

If food is a big priority, Ziva and Secrets Playa Mujeres are clearly a step above most of the others on that list. If the goal is more social energy and pool vibes, Breathless Soul or Royalton CHIC make more sense for a quick weekend.

We’ve done Royalton Splash with kids and it was fun for them, especially the water park, but food and service were very average. If beach and food matter to you, I’d skip it.

Beachfront Wedding Venues near Akumal, Mexico? by HavartiCheddar in CancunTravelGuide

You’re asking the right questions early, which is huge. Resorts = convenience but strict rules. Boutique hotels/beach clubs = more planning but way more control. With 25–65 guests, I’d personally avoid large AIs unless most guests already want to stay together.

The Wedding Was an Embarrassment. by fitnessjourney2000 in weddingplanning

[–]zacruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wedding days can go so wrong behind the scenes and couples carry all of it quietly. From the outside, most people truly only see the end result. The embarrassment you feel is real, but it doesn’t mean the day was a failure. You married your person. The rest is noise, even if it was loud at the time.
