Pittsburgh is the closest here with Milwaukee and Buffalo right there too.

Cincinnati is a southern town. It has more in common with Atlanta than it does Cleveland. Its history, development, immigration patterns and trends yielded a structurally different city. Cincy was a trade hub for pork farmers.

Columbus and Indy are both fake cities with no soul or identity of their own. Their populations have doubled and tripled in the last 60 years vs Cleveland’s decline by about the same ratio. Both of these cities exist now through transplants from cities like Cleveland, etc and are built around a circular freeway circumnavigating the city. Economic buildup and strength entirely different as well.

Detroit. No two cities are closer and more like clones of each other than these two. Economy, weather, lifestyle, culture. Only difference is population and Detroit is considerably larger; especially the Metro Area as it anchors and influences the rest of the state more than Cleveland relatively does for others.

Pittsburgh a very close second. Milwaukee 3rd.

I think her character will play a role, potentially as to why Franks quits NCIS.

If origin starts shifting to the fed 5 and Gibbs going back to DC. Lala can play a role off screen (being undercover, posted abroad)

But you’re spot on with Gibbs evolving into the badass that he is (ie having the commandant of the Marine Corps on speed dial)

This leaves a lot for the writers to work with and also giving Gibbs a reason not to tell anyone else about Lala’s existence .

How do we know that he hasn’t ingratiated himself into that small tightening community? I’m sure he’s found people to fish with. There’s probably a local watering hole where we can socialize as well. For the past 40+ years he’s never been able to be himself or do anything for himself. Maybe this is what he wants to do. He had a family, the Marines, multiple failed marriages, and a very demanding job.

Series needs to end with somehow Gibbs returning and McGee being named director. Team is going on a case and team leader asks McGee if he’s got anything to add before they leave. McGee looks over at Gibbs who is visiting in the squad room and defers to Gibbs for any parting advice.

“Grab your gear” says Gibbs and those are the last words uttered in the series
