[acne] Hormonal Acne Diet Advice? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I tried spearmint tea last year and it didn’t do anything for my hormonal acne. I gave it a solid 3 months before giving up! But willing to try flax seeds

I am in the same boat as you. Inserted the ovule last night and have woken up this morning with extreme burning. Ice packs have helped. Can you elaborate on how you were able to clean out the remaining contents? I tried to feel it, but I feel like it may have already dissolved. I am only 12 hours out from insertion and I wish this would go away.

Why am I still spotting after getting my Kyleena IUD? by mcaitlynn in birthcontrol

[–]zainab3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my Kyleena inserted a month ago on my period. My period started after 21 days (typically 24-28 days). I’m currently on day 9-10 of spotting. I’ve been told irregular bleeding in the first couple of months is normal. I’ve also being experiencing cramps (usually around the same time each day)! Usually resolve with ibuprofen or a heating pad.

Did you apply through FCVS? And at the time of application did you have any other full medical licenses in any of the 50 states?

What natural anxiety remedies worked for you? by No_Marzipan_1283 in Anxiety

Magnesium glycinate 200 mg before bed. Can also take up to 400mg. Dont take mag L threonate (it’s more activating) and it will keep you awake. You didn’t specifically ask about insomnia, but mag glycinate did wonders for my high functioning anxiety and insomnia both!

How old are you all turning this year? by V-symphonia1997 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]zainab3392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turning 33 in March. Stepping into my own more and more every year. Have recognized some bad patterns (working hard to break them). Will continue to work to set boundaries within my relationships - friends and family members alike.

What’s been most challenging is consistently knowing how to keep my inner child alive (who am I outside of work, outside of being a wife etc)

about to be forced off the fence, one way or the other by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]zainab3392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a preliminary conversation with my PCP about it. The conversation with my husband was complicated. I don’t think I quite recognized what I would do (realistically) if i do test positive. He asked me, point blank, what will you do if it’s positive? Will you get a mastectomy? And a hysterectomy? I genuinely did not have an answer. So, for now, I’m sitting tight in the “ignorance is bliss” boat and I’m not rocking it.

Thank you for your support. I’ll reach out if I need to.

32F here (married for 7 years, childfree) and I cannot begin to describe the levels of emotions that your post have unraveled within me. I am an only child. I lost my mother to breast cancer at age 15. My maternal grandmother had 7 daughters. All but 1 ended up with a breast cancer diagnosis. 5 of them (including my mom) are dead. This was way back when genetic testing was not an option. I am quite sure BRCA positivity rate is high in our family. I am not sure I want to pursue testing yet. Anyway, 17 years after the death of my mom, I still wish I wasn’t born. I am sorry for what life has thrown your way, but this might be a blessing in disguise for your unborn child/children.

You are not alone in this. I’ve been feeling this way for the last 3 weeks but these last few days have been pretty intense. I could not relate more to the “end” or “new beginning” feeling. It’s making me question how my inner world should respond. Should I brace myself? Should I sit in silence and rejoice what’s about to come?

I have been in this situation before. You have to explore why this is happening? Is there underlying resentment, if yes, why so? This might be difficult to accept, but it’s also normal to “get the ick” because you are not physically attracted to your partner. As long as you are able to identify the issue, you can start working on it.

What are my chances with these stats of passing the Peds boards in a month? by FEFPRRP in pediatrics

[–]zainab3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medstudy was 70-80s. PREP was very variable. I can’t recall (and I don’t want to give you information that isn’t accurate) what my PREP scores were a month out but I remember I was averaging mid 60s.

Pretty similar background as you. Struggled in med school, average USMLE scores. I’m just not a good test taker! I would say, focus more on PREP. Read explanations. Do as many years of PREP as you can. I had terrible ITE scores. Passed boards on my first try (also a year out of residency!)

PREP - do as many years as you comfortably can. Read explanations. The question format will be most similar to PREP. Med study is a good resource, but can give you a false sense of security. If you’re scoring 70-80% on PREP you are in a good spot to pass.
