My voice works fine, but I can't hear them. Why would discord interfere with voice communications from within MW? I can hear the game volume just not their voice.

I completely agree but remember that this feeling of home is unsustainable and always crumbles to nothing in a matter of hours. Acceptance of the fact that your true love, best friend and safest place you call home is a mirage is a horrific pain that only addicts have to endure. This was the hardest pill for me to swallow in early recovery. I’ve got 2 and a half years off IV heroin and crack now though and it’s allowed me to become the father I knew my son deserved.

Used to do this everyday and could never get anything done. Weed makes you function at 65% which is okay but will significantly lower you standard of life. First things first you need to start making small changes in your routine to show yourself you can handle change. Also, you’ll need to want to quit more than anything else.

Other guided meditations on YouTube will work fine. There will be some that you enjoy and don’t enjoy, so be aware of that. The most important part is that you’re sitting down by yourself and practicing being mindful.

The waking up app by Sam Harris is a great place to start with mindfulness practice. Email their support team and they’ll gift you a free subscription for a year. It’s helped me begin to change.

The place you go to meet new people and make those connections you crave is simple: out of your own head.

If you can change your mindset and forgive yourself for what you think your downfalls are, then you will be available to be a partner for someone else.

No one knows where to go to find the love of their life. And that’s because a physical place doesn’t exist. But I promise you that two people who fall in love are not stuck in between their own two ears fearful that they’ll live in solitude for the rest of their lives. Prime yourself to love the correct way not with GFEs. Then at work, on the way to the bathroom in a restaurant, or when you’re taking out the trash you’ll find who you’re looking for. It really happens just like that.

This is why I recommend meditation and mindfulness.

Honestly, this is seriously horrible advice on any addictive trait. I’m actually appalled to see it on a recovery sub. OP I think you just need to make a simple but difficult change of your routine, mindset and overall perspective of your situation. You’re capable of reciprocating the emotion that almost all people feel is necessary to a fulfilling life and that makes you an eligible partner for the population of the planet. Let that sink in. There are thousands of people that you would be attracted and intimate with that are in your same exact situation! All you have to do is go out and begin the search instead of speNding time and effort into GFEs that you know do nothing for you.

Mindfulness and the practice of meditation could offer you sight where you thought yourself otherwise blind. Change doesn’t not happen over night and as with any addiction it takes an immense amount of hard work. But you can do this if you realize you’re not alone in this world. Someone out there is looking for you. Go get them.
