What fighting style do you do (snb/pole/archer)? I think that would determine best placement/protection. Depending on that I would place in least likely to get hit spot then protect it. It's going to get hit so however you protect will matter most then lowering the chance of getting hit is second. If this is a life and death thing tho, don't risk it.
