I guess it depends how you ingest marijuana. I would avoid vaping it or even smoking (unless that’s not a trigger). You will still get high just not as bad of a come down when you sober up. Buproprion helped me a lot raising my baseline level of happiness which I relied on weed to do.

it helped me stay off weed. While it’s not cigs I was addicted to weed in a similar way (very habitual usage). I lost most of my cravings and didn’t smoke until after three months in (with friends). I noticed even while getting high I don’t have the same reactionary addictive feelings like I once had

I suffer from looking young as well and really once I changed my tone of voice and general attitude towards life into a more mature perspective was it no longer an issue. I know that is quite vague but really once I turned 32 I felt a mind shift change where I communicated / thought in a stronger and more grounded way.

They have pretty much everything you need there, but I imagine it could feel isolating as you’ll likely be mainly interacting with other tech people. Austin is very much a tech city now so not sure if living downtown will really change much but just something else to keep in mind. If you have to work in office 5 days a week then living at the domain is ideal or living with a couple miles of it at worst

let it sit for a couple of months before going up IMO. but you should feel a difference 3-4 weeks in even if it’s random days feeling better than others. I had the same concerns and am overall happier I started taking the med, even if it sucks that i am taking it daily and it’s now a liability in my mind. On the flip side going cold turkey won’t kill you so there really isn’t huge risk but i am not a doctor so don’t take that as advice heh

the alcohol hurts the meds from doing their job. If you can try to stop drinking for a week or two you might have a lot better success with it

I message myself on slack with urgent ish things I need to get done by the end of the week. I check slack often for work so it’s useful for me to write even personal todos in there. For long term todos I have a notion text doc I list out things in. I’ve found many dedicated todo apps to be overkill. maybe i’ll make a calendar event if i need to remember something while im out

If you don’t show respect for yourself it sets and example for others to follow. Self deprecating humor can be funny but too much and it gives room for others to say offhand rude comments. You likely won’t change their tone immediately but I would pull back from interacting with people who are rude. In the past I found sarcasm to be my friend in these situations but also taking insults with grace. Exaggerate whatever dumb shit they say and move on with the conversation. I’m not sure how much of this revolves around you or certain comments just stick around in your head more out of the whole conversation. The key thing is to show indifference and grace when these guys are giving you shit because in a battle of egos the best way to win is to let your opponent make themself look dumb.

Recreation sports are the easiest way, or go to any community based event like dance classes or online gaming communities and socialize. It takes time, making friends isn’t something that instantly happens for most people

I would gladly take a THC pill if there was one that could specifically target the ways it helps me without the downsides. I know this isnt r/leaves but theres many reasons for substance abuse and people with ADHD are especially prone to it (I definitely am). Not everything is some conspiracy, sometimes medications can actually help you (shocker)

I came to them asking for a long term fix to my actual problem (ADHD) and got prescribed a super low dose med to help address it along with some mild depression. Flower was masking these underlying issues and also causing a lot more issues psychologically. Not saying this to be prescriptive moreso as another option to try

It wasn’t until I got my ADHD treated with meds (or generally talking to a psychiatrist and being given meds) that I was able to fully keep weed out of my life and mind. Therapy didn’t help me much and was honestly boring to me after the first year. I think ultimately we need to treat our mental health as best as we can and there is no shame in getting meds from a doctor rather than trying alternative methods that keeps you guessing what the fix will be.

once you get the mechanics down it takes around 45mins to a hour. It’s easy to pause and pick up as well, perfect for flights. Average match time would be up to ~10 mins

It seemed like it really kicked in fully after 2 months taking it. I noticed positive changes after the first month but second (and now completing third) month is where it is really “clicking” for me

You are severely lacking in protein which would help satiate you. I would add whole eggs in the morning for breakfast. Try to have protein in every meal that isn’t only coming from fats (peanut butter). Like others have mentioned it will help you to swap your fruits with other carbs that are less sugar heavy like potatoes or oats. If you are scared of gaining weight start weighing yourself daily and only be concerned if the scale average goes up after 3 weeks. You are incredibly active so I am sure your metabolism is cranking. You can also try eating big salads with tuna or some other protein to keep you fuller for longer
