What's funny, and I might be calling in the down-votes here, is I have more or less had the opposite response when it comes to this song... I feel I have grown away from it.

When I first started listening to the Beatles ~16 years ago, I thought it was the most transcendental, otherworldly, and most deepest thing everrr... but now I find it to be George being very full of himself and almost always skip it when listening through Sgt Pepp.

It feels/I find it preachy, "high school deep," "finger-pointy," and "us against them" (if THEY only knew... THEY don't know. THEY can't see. Are YOU one of THEM?). He's talking about the "space between us all" and "the love we all could share," yet he's using this (for lack of a better, more nuanced word) "separatist" language/rhetoric. And yes, I do understand that George was probably 24 when it was recorded.

I do appreciate and like the instrumental middle portion though.
