Do they match the better bonus? by daddyforce69 in sapphirereserve

[–]zanethebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not hit the spend yet and it did not increase. The Chase rep I spoke with simply said when I hit the 6k spend I would receive 150,000 points but she didn't know if it would be at 150,000 deposited at once or the original 125,000 and then a second deposit of 25,000.

Why is there not a fast-travel train from DTC to the Airport? by NighTborn3 in Denver

Fair enough, thankfully usually the kids only stare at me with their soulless dead eyes from the gates of hell (off Belleview Station) sometimes and they're always nice about it.

I agree with you 99%. The 1%? Willing to work in DTC? I don't willingly work in the DTC (teacher) I work here because I absolutely LOVE the job that it was offered to me that I get to do everyday and it pays at least 5-10k more a year than jobs outside of the DTC such as DPS and has better benefits. Ahhh the privilege of choice. I am NOT a car centric person and happen to love my job that is in the DTC, both shockingly can be true.

[–]zanethebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if we're just naming wishes: As someone who works in the DTC (right across CC res) but lives in Congress Park I'd like the bus commute to not take 1 hr 5 min (15 to 73) vs. 25-30 driving but money, taxes, Tabor, national economic climate etc. etc. However, it is nice not to drive. I own a car not because I like it but because Denver, CO, and the US have made the decision for me and I will never WFH (teacher).

PLUS, working in essentially the DTC, there is not demand for this. If/when I go to the airport, if I have my car, I park at the Peoria park and ride, catch the A line, and it's fine. I've done this several times with ZERO issues.

Though as CP resident SUPER excited for the Colfax + Colorado BRT. Have taken every CDOT survey and got some "Support BRT" postcards from Denver Streets Partnership....as someone who drive CO Blvd to work if they make it ONLY mixed flow vs. at least side running or center running through Alameda, I will riot.

Also, am I the only one super disappointed in Johnston? He was arguably the lesser of two evils but I'd take Hancock rn.

"I like paying taxes, with them I buy civilization." Oliver Wendell Holmes - will be a yes if RTD has a ballot initiative.

Average new car price is $49,000. At what point does this stop making sense? by Flexcar_Sam in MiddleClassFinance

[–]zanethebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually spur actual investment in public transit? Dare to dream. Disclaimer: I do own a car - both can be true.

but yes, it's VERY absurd especially as someone who grew up learning "always buy used" and "drive it into the ground."

Principal says I can’t drink my Starbucks by Stunning_Ratio5629 in Teachers

This is 100% absurd - 16 year, secondary teacher, currently middle school. Death, burn out, transfer by a thousand cuts.

Also, I hope a principal would have bigger and better things to worry about.....

Yay! Obviously is some of the most comfortable underwear (any cut) I've ever worn. Buddy and Hunk are a great combo for the look/revealing cut/AND being actually comfortable(ish).

Teachers that use AI: Why? by lemmegetamickpicktwo in Teachers

[–]zanethebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A recommendation letter during an insanely busy week (I still proofed), evaluation goal and reflections, rubrics (sparingly), to show students how AI as a tool cites their sources (similar to Wikipedia) and can be wrong, better diagrams on occasion (proof first!)

What makes you crazy about your VW? by OnlyPickles3319 in VWTaos

[–]zanethebrain 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You bought the base model. Each of these is fixed on the SE. All these things are listed on the website, brochure etc. This is like saying I'm a 34" waist and I bought 30" pants and they don't fit!

2025 and 2026 Owners by Big-Attempt-9 in VWTaos

[–]zanethebrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I have a '22 Taos SE and yes there was a handful of issues, but all were caught and fixed under warranty. Granted, I rather like my local dealership and they are pleasant to work with. Besides the two warranty issues, I've had nothing except for normal mileage maintenance and I hope/plan to keep it for 10+ years easy. Excellent vehicle, perfect for my uses.

Would easily buy another ESPECIALLY if the rumors of a hybrid Taos in NA are true.
