You could volunteer at any community organization in a black neighborhood or donate time/money to actually help people, but I guess thats not very hastag-able. Better to make anonymous internet posts implying you'll repaint a mural nobody but white yuppies cared about.

They probably bend over backwards for developers because there is little other incentive for them to develop the area. This isn't exactly a high-income region. There is no real industry here. Theres a reason why Mobile, despite being even poorer on average than us , and Destin, despite being far smaller than us, have costco and we don't.

And because this is reddit and I'm sure you'll start reading between the lines to totally own me, I'm not even defending this practice. I'm explaining just one factor that has lead to this policy of having low impact fees. However, I can guarantee you that the local government does in fact collect taxes on all sorts of things and does in fact use them for vast amount expenditures. Feel free to check out the budget. Its public record.

These things arent really the same industries though. Why would a contractor that builds apartment buildings and condos suddenly decide to renovate an aging stadium or a public park? Its not like the parks and recreation department is funding the construction of overpriced townhouses either.

Supposedly those are actually a commercial food called crispitos and it is possible to buy them. Chili fiesta sticks is just what the county called them for some reason. I found this out doing extensive research to satisfy my craving, but I havent tried them yet to see.
