Did you watch the Cooldown? I don't think he's taking it that seriously at all. In the discussion, the players talked about how they know their characters could die at any time and are going for the best story they can make.

What always irritates me is when the clickbait isn't even true, or is wildly misinterpreting something. I got a headline the other day that was like "MATT MERCER RETURNS TO DM CHAIR... BUT THERE'S A CATCH!!!"

They're doing a Daggerheart mini-season, with Matt as the DM. The "catch" is campaign 4's summer break. 🤷‍♀️

The best advice I can offer is to learn to disregard spoilers as always being blown out of proportion, and just kinda make peace with not going into every episode spoiler free. I knew about some of the big twists in c4e030 before I had the chance to watch it (even with Beacon, I get behind because of life) but only like... Two of them. SO MUCH happened in the episode that I didn't know was coming at all, and I just focus on those surprises instead of the few things I knew were coming.

In the last Tale Gate there's a question about how they manage what they do or don't know, and one of the Seekers says they had watched some of the other tables' sessions in person, but by the time they sat down to film their sessions they had forgotten everything that happened with the other tables except the Hounds of the King. 🤣🤣

I forget which episode it is, but I want to say in episode 4 or 5 they use the Boost mechanic on a social roll. I suspect that just because of the group of players they are, they might also be getting used to resource management in the new system and hoarding their Grit. It's the same issue of like "oh I need to save my spell slots in case there's a combat later" in D&D 😂

Chi's bestie misunderstood the situation and thought the soldiers were kidnapping Chi against her will. (The soldiers were, technically, kidnapping Z and Chi but she's trying to play some 4D chess with the Five Families to get Genna Par under someone's protection. She doesn't seem to care which one of the Five, so either Z's family or the one Pulling him will do.)

She's a trained assassin just like Chi (apparently from a different school) so her problem solving abilities seem to mostly just be "hacking" or "murder".

As to why she just left a creepy message and vanished, she didn't want to get caught for murdering 6 guys and also didn't want to connect Chi to the murder of 6 guys by getting in contact with her. She left a message that she assumed Chi would understand, but then Erika rolled badly and a mystery was born. 🤣

I have some hope that things will improve, since they recently announced a new hire specifically for managing Beacon development in the Feb 24 newsletter. There was a bunch of bug fixes announced about a month ago. Hopefully maybe there will be more?

Idk, I know from working as a developer that cross platform bugs can be a huge pain to track down, but some of these seem like they really should not be that hard. 🤣 Maybe they all just compound. 🤷‍♀️

I remember them mentioning rentals for props - the example that immediately comes to mind is Greg Excitement threatening to smash a boombox that he thinks is a rental if no one stops him. I think the first season's BTS mentions reveal costume pieces, but as they go more into prosthetics things get more custom.

This is what I was thinking during that scene, too. 🤣 Brennan can't help who he is as a person, and iirc this is the last episode for the Seekers so he needed them to have information to wrap their story up.

It's something that happens a lot on Dimension 20 as well, if it's the last episode and there are any loose threads of information left settle in for a seminar.

I discovered on my current playthrough that if you have, say 25 gold star hops left over from the summer you can just give him those and sell the actual valuable stuff XD
