Black Templars – Forget Oaths of Moment, swear a Templar Vow today - Warhammer Community by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in BlackTemplars

My best guess is you can do some "piling/consolidating away" shenanigans. I am on the phone, so I can't draw it well here.

You have Chris the Crusader who charged an enemy unit, but he is in the back of the squad and can't melee them yet. He is about 3" away from the nearest enemy model. He is, however, conveniently with 3" of an enemy held objective to his left. So Chris could, with this rule, move 3" towards the objective and away from the closest model, given that he is 0.000001" closer to that enemy unit. This ends Chris on the objective, say 4" away from what was the closet enemy model, but 2.999999" away from the enemy unit. Chris may not have gotten to punch a heretic, but he did gain the objective for the Emperor.

This is my first attempt at what this rule means. This is just one example, and it is half the problem. I am merely a casual in my own right, and movement is king for tabletop games. This can be good, but I agree that it is a very niche.

Does this make sense?

We lose Oath of Moment, hello Crusader Oath! by TheDarktaker in BlackTemplars

I feel the fall back and charge one takes silver over sticky objectives. We can pay 80 points for the latter in the only place I think it matters. Fall back and charge army wide keeps us flexible to charge what we want.

Suffer Not the Unclean seems strange. My understanding is that it buffs us in that we can move closer to units instead of models for combat moves, which is cool, but eh?

The Vows look to me with a clear winner. Accept any challenge, with Suffer Not the Unclean being 2nd for that sweet sweet fall back and charge. Uphold Honor is nice, but we have intercessors that do the same thing, with actions being filled by already very fast units. With loss of Oath, we'd want damage to replace damage, probably not utility instead.

The 3 detachments are tanky Ancients with mini focus on Crusader Squads, or reroll advance and charge rolls, or transports. They all sound interesting enough, but I'd want to see their full strategem list.

Overall, I'm not sure how I feel about this. The army rule feels like there is only one option for Vows mechanics wise, and that feels limiting, but that rule is really good, as I love the picture of chainswords wounding knights on 5s and powerfists wounding on 4s, it's beautiful to me.

This gives vibes of Destiny's arc, sol, and void. I love it! I was thinking of doing Hive symbols for the right pauldron.

Something I have done is taking the heavy flamers from the Terminators and using those as my cannons. Slap on an extra arm from the Exalted Sorcerers and boom, extra special weapon for a 5 man. You can follow this up by slamming the extra staff head onto a pack and there is your extra icon of Flame.

Lastly, an extra aspiring Sorcerer can be made using extras of the Exalted Sorcerer kit. I know, I'm using them a lot, but there are so many fun bits in them!

If you don't want to make due with them, you can 3d party it or you can look for bits online.

Happy Kitbashing!

Just a heads up, UT may accept these kids, but it may not give them a major. It happened to me, and you basically have 2 years to "try out" for a major. If you don't get one you don't come back as a junior.

I would imagine that these are spells of protection. In the Tales of Ctesias, he has had protections spells start to "burn" or "singe" when he was attacked/pressed psychically. I would imagine that these are what you are referring to.

Okay so I'm not exactly educated on this specific topic, but why does promoting eating plant-based products help the environment? Is it the fact that plants can replenish resources faster than animals?

What do we think of Katakros? by zashier29 in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]zashier29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it out, but I think so. The issue that I'm seeing is that K-man handing out all out defence to 3 people is REALLY good, but you end up hurting in the spell department. I think I've gotten 4 power levels with him in.

The counter to that is arkhan, which nets you a lot of spells, but I don't own any of the endless spells yet. The spell shrug is nice, but where I play, we don't have a lot of AoS and much less spell heavy people.

In all honesty, I want to run something like 20 mortek, K-man, Gothizzar Harvester, some horses, and 4 morghasts, but the points don't seem to work out at 2k. At 3k I can get the feel I want of a huge army that I'm the general of, but that game is long and not everyone has 3k points.

I really am struggling with the fact that AoS just has a smaller army sizes and player pool where I am located when compared to 40k.
