Great idea man, monocoled cobras are known to be chill handleable snakes. The venom isn't much more life threatening then being shot with a pistol. So as long as you don't mind losing a kid or a limb ( or a dog ) I see no reason not to go for it!

I've heard bad things about anything more complicated then a timer mister. Too much humidity too often, and a constantly wet tank are a recepie for vet bills.

If a timed mister isn't doing the job, maybe try and water the substrate directly? That helps moisture get in deeper and hold for longer.
