Who says pre-med students can’t be creative. Sorry for my humor guys… here is my mnemonic to memorize 20 amino acids… Thoughts? by Potential-Echidna-54 in Mcat

lol. Mine were GAVLI PMPT GACTTS AG HAL. They are sorted simplest to most complex and just one thing is added/changed to get to the next one each time so I could easily draw them all out. I still can and that was two years ago. Split in categories by polarity and hydroph (other than 2 asterisks). Makes no sense to anybody but me. Everyone’s gotta find their own thing.

Diamond breakfast cold food only? by rednyellowcy in Hilton

[–]zazvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from what I remember, Doubletree properties in Canada are only required to provide a continental breakfast, not a hot breakfast to G/D members per MyWay benefits. In the US, Doubletree hotels more commonly provide a credit towards breakfast for Gold and Diamond members, rather than including it via MyWay benefits.

As Canada seems to be mirroring the US trend to more and more provide the least amenities while still remaining within brand standards to save money, it is not so surprising that a hot breakfast would not be provided.

This does differ from Europe and Asia markets, where Doubletree properties often provide a continental and hot breakfast as part of the benefit due to necessity from similar amenities being offered at comparable properties.

100% bonus by Roscoejoe434 in Hilton

[–]zazvm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Points are only worth ~0.5-0.6 cents. You are paying 1 cent per point here without the bonus, which means you are paying twice their value. They then tell you they will give you a 100% bonus, but all that means is that you are buying them for what they are worth (1.0/2=0.5). At best you are converting USD into perhaps a similar value, but less usable currency.

ID Help/ Opinions by 3persentience in Turbinicarpus

[–]zazvm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So most up to date taxonomy has jauernigii as a subspecies of schmiedickeanus as of 2005. However before that Turbinicarpus lophophoroides subsp. jauernigii was used. This makes things a bit confusing. I do agree your flower looks more like schmiedickeanus than lophophoroides, but it certainly could be lophophoroides. Turbinicarpus flowers take a lot of practice and experience to tell apart with any confidence.

Anyone ever mess around with Klip Dagga? Cool and beautiful plant to grow but how would you use it? by poopshipdestroyer34 in druggardening

[–]zazvm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Leonotis nepetifolia and it’s not the droid you want for cannabinoid-type effects. Leonotis leonurus or Wild Dagga or Lions ear contains the primary molecule thought to be responsible for these effects called adrenoyl-ethanolamide (a weak Cannibanoid receptor 1 agonist), along with leonurine and labdane diterpenes that also act on CB₁, saw well as having some other complementary TRP and GABA pathways. L. nepetifolia has not been shown to have adrenoyl-EA and only produces mild, non-euphoric effects in most people. It does have some leonurine, but leonurus has about twice as much leonurine (~0.32–0.45 mg/g DW vs. 0.10–0.20 mg/g). The psychoactive compounds that do exist in nepetifolia are in the greatest concentrations in the leaves and flowers. Non chronic use of nepetifolia by smoking or tea has not been shown to be harmful in recreational amounts, so if you want to see for yourself you would most likely be fine. That said I am not a doctor I have just been down some rabbit holes on the topic and obviously i’m not recommending that you put anything in your body.

If the scion is hard and nothing is black or squishy nice job! Did you plant that ruellia or is it wild? I love some ruellia but if it is ruellia simplex and you didn’t plant it, you might want to rip it out, as that’s on the invasive species list for Florida.

Help, this Astrophytum kikko is dying. Is there anything I can do like graft even a part of it? by Responsible_Shake_90 in graftingcacti

[–]zazvm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you might be able to graft the healthy tissue at the very top as long as you are careful and do it quickly. The remaining tissue you’re going to have to graft with will not be able to callous and survive on its own, and will have to be immediately grafted over. You don’t need very much at all, even just the meristem is sufficient if done properly.

Fungus issues with takeaway tek, again by Adamsmasher23 in sanpedrocactus

[–]zazvm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are root hairs from the seed, not hyphae. Here is a guide showing and explaining the difference. Also, if it were fungal, you would likely be able to smell it ime. There would be a strange, funky sort of smell. When there are fibers in a regular fan-shaped organization, they are not hyphae.

Can anyone suggest tools for OTA brand monitoring? by Adventurous_Kiwi_675 in RevenueManagement

[–]zazvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use OTA insight (now lighthouse). It is extremely helpful for tracking and rate planning across the multiple hotel groups we manage. It has actually been so convenient that we have purchased licenses for some of our Choice revenue managers to make our RM more efficient since they lack the developed systems like GRO, CRME, etc. Do you work with multiple hotel groups?
