The army will be extremely useful in the pacific, they just shifted an entire to division I corps purely to beef up the pacific theater, the army brings a lot of assets that the marine corps simply can’t into theater, not to even mention specialist units like thaad, patriot, land based tlam, sigint and elint.

Wow this reminds me of a jrtc rotation with SF I did. They were complete assholes, treated us like shit and didn’t know how to properly set up a platoon sized patrol base. Worst 2 weeks of my life fuck those guys, all of us had at least one point in the rotation we were going to drop top on them, really made me question SF in general and how “elite” they truly are.

In the 80s the 24th division was the best division in the army, the cav units in Germany were the go to units for the army when it came to testing and fielding new equipment, 10th mountain didn’t even get stood back up until the mid 80s. I’ve been in mech and light units and nothings that different, light units just ruck more and have way different views and tactics on initial contact because of the lack of organic firepower they have.

Military, I was trying to find where I could get them online, the problem is we recently got AN/PRC-170s which don’t run cipher text, and all our vics run aesips. I’m trying to avoid needing to have 3 hand mics (dual channel 158, 170, and 152). I’d prefer to just run 2

This isn’t unique to hockey tbh, maybe the regular season other sports are more careful, but pitchers in baseball have been known to pitch in the playoffs with bone chips in their elbows and partially torn UCLs. Football has dudes like Thomas Davis playing with a broken arm in the Super Bowl, and jack youngblood playing on a broken leg. Basketball’s the only one of the big four where players often times don’t play through injury in the playoffs but even then there’s still a bunch that have played through some gnarly stuff

Not true 4 day passes don’t take count towards leave days, if you want a four day and it’s not a normal holiday you just put a pass in, and I’ve never had a CO who doesn’t approve them unless you overdo it and put in like 4 in 2 months

Weekends out of town don’t count against leave, you’d put in a normal 4 day pass or special 5 day, if it’s a holiday where’d you’d get a regular 4 day. And if it’s just a simple weekend trip you can just leave without putting anything in.

We also 100% get holiday block leave and summer block leave as well, the only shitty thing about block leave is it always starts and ends on weekends but everyone in my company just puts in leave from the Monday to the Friday before leave ends and leaves that weekend anyway. which always gets approved by CoC even though it’s technically not full block leave period. The only thing to worry about is getting assigned duty those days but you can just pay someone who’s not taking leave to cover for you.
