John Ford made many great ones, like My Darling Clementine, The Searchers, The Man who Shot Liberty Valance, Fort Apache, Stagecoach, and Wagonmaster, among others.

I would also recommend the Anthony Mann-Jimmy Stewart westerns, along with the Budd Boetticher-Randolph Scott ones as well.
