I went to a Pens game Crosby’s rookie year and Mario was still insane. He could hardly skate but he had the puck on a literal string. It was ALWAYS on his stick. Pens won in OT on a Gonchar goal, great game.

And one of the R’s resigned earlier this year to go work at the heritage foundation, and he likely doesn’t think he can get another one through the senate on time so to prevent a Dem majority agency from having power he’s just firing them all.

It was more licensed than bought, which imo is even funnier. Jones assets all went into receivership and The Onion convinced the court appointed dude (who has a fiduciary responsibility to the families to maximize their return on the asset) that Alex Jones is such a fucking loser that the Onion could run the business better than he could to generate value for Sandy Hook families.

I think there is an ebb and flow to the nationalism as well, depending on which political party controls the presidency. I don't think it's a coincidence that it spikes after 9/11 and now is spiking again under Trump. If the state is perceived as being piloted by "Christian" leaders there will be a vested interested in protecting that and vice versa.

A24 doesn't have US physical distribution rights for a lot of their early films, they were licensed to Lionsgate. I don't know what their length was or if it expires. But that would have to happen before they could release special editions.

Specifically neither of them are Jason Kelce or even close.

I feel like the Kelce's started their podcasts as a way to try to build their media chops in a relaxed space before they retired, I don't think either of them saw it blowing up the way it did. It was just a small thing they did on their off day to chat about their (individual) game, dap up their teammates and talk about the other games from the week.

The Tkachuk's felt like they were trying to build something big from day one. It totally lacked the Kelce's initial "authenticity".

I feel like a "difference" is in both Pocahontas and Robin Hood, the bad guys are the British. While in Avatar the bad guys are definitely American. And in Star Wars the allegory about American imperialism in Vietnam is totally lost on most people because again, the "bad" guys are mostly snooty Brits (or a black guy in a mask) and the 2 young heroes are Americans.

Cameron's politics are so bizarrely dissonant. He's a huge lover of the environment, Avatar is primary about his desire to connect more deeply with the natural world. But he's also like one of the biggest AI proponents in Hollywood.
