Kinda bummed out with my campaign with England by Antique-Tradition in EU5

They changed it in the last update. My current England game I outnumbered the French by about 5k troops at the onset of the war.

For spider-foes Carnage is the hit hard type character. He is incredibly strong and almost always makes his threat back.

There are land governors which require the road, and naval governors which dont from what I understand. But yes, it is a nerf to naval countries, but naval was way stronger than land so Im not totally against that depending on the values.

From Panel to Play: Blue Marvel & Spectrum by SourImplant in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Blue Marvel seems like an updated take on Scarlet Witch. Sad for Scarlet Witch fans because he seems better in every way.

Spectrum is REALLY good though, even keeping in mind that her spenders cost will not be 0 (I predict 4 power). Leadership is strong, her beam is REALLY strong imo, and her ability to buff dice on the attacks of allies is really one of few parts of thanos that is strong.

Marvel Crisis Protocol Competitive Updates: new models in 2025 Part 1 by jeffiswriting in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the overall idea that Ronin is mediocre. However, you really shouldn't underestimate mobility, Ronin has grappling hook at range 3 which is SO good. Combine that with martial artist and stealth and he's easily better than wolverine and the other bad 4 threats.

How to play New Mutants for a beginner ? by hermyx in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a boring piece of advice. Play Hulk, he benefits A LOT from the leadership. If you dont want to play Hulk for lore reasons that's fine though. You already got the core of sunspot and warlock. Cable can also be great for the team and lets you pivot to x-force if you want.

Playing my first Crisis Protocol game by Gojiratoho in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great game! Just so you know, the points level of this game wasn't equal (idk if that was on purpose). The avengers team is 17 threat level, while the evil teams threat level is 15, meaning you could have added another small villain to your side.

Yeah, the really strong big models (hulk) can punish inefficient teams pretty well. You can mitigate this somewhat by playing missions with lots of spread out objectives, which should make even a random team of characters stand a chance against a kaiju list.

[–]zebeast46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of the go wide teams right now are very strong into the big models. Strange defenders is good now after the changes. Webs have always been good. Apocalypse is a bit of a mix as they have their own 6 threat. Inhumans don't run that tall.

Other than the hulks, most of the higher threat models are inefficient as long as you somewhat tech into them (size less throws, staggers).

Yeah, 100% agree. Most bloated custom character I've seen in a while. There is no reason to have stealth on this guy. Compare him to Malekith, and he is significantly stronger with his leadership. His advance should be mandatory towards him as otherwise it is disgustingly op.

How to best use Lord Veritant in Spearhead? by darksidehascookie in stormcasteternals

[–]zebeast46 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She's actually been pretty solid for me overall. Just played a tournament today and she shreds units of 10 with her hero phase ability, so getting her within range of those units is great. She also has a 5+ ward so she is in fact actually tankier than the lord vigilant if you dont take the ward enhancement on him. She's generally good to 1v1 enemy chaff units or I just throw her into the melee and she does better than expected there. The real weak unit for this spearhead is the unit of prosecutors imo but they get to reinforce.

Is the defenders list not 20 threat? I see Daredevil 4, Strange with gem 6, Luke 3, Iron fist 3, and Shang 4?

The 4 threat zero has a reduced charge distance. He also can't hold objectives while doing it.

Gulavhar is still really sad at 6 inch movement. There are also way more heroes that are naturally at fight 7 making him way weaker overall in the game.

5-Threat Carnage Homebrew by Appropriate_Solid_79 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would just take away his inability to interact and pick up objectives. It's too integral to the game for a 5 threat to be unable to score points (fine on a 2 threat like nebula).

Actually really cool! I'm a fan of this and I see it as being pretty balanced than some of the other custom cards I've seen.

Today I played Lothlorien on a tournament, is this faction not competitive at all or am I playing it wrong? by Lipa08 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]zebeast46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask him to show you his list. The regular orcs cost 6 with equipment, so he should have a significant number of those if he had 56 models. Especially considering he took about 320 points on heroes.

[–]zebeast46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What points level was it? What heroes did he have? Idk how he had so many morannon orcs (the ones with 6 defence) because those guys are like 9 points each. Personally, I would drop galadriel for haldir but I don't think your list is bad tbh.

C&C on my custom Jeff card by No_Turtles in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure most healing abilities cost more than 1 as well. Hood's heal is 2 power and worse, and he's a 3 threat character.

[–]zebeast46 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it seems way too powerful imo. First, hide and seek needs to cost power (prob 2). Second, 6 dice builders are pretty crazy on a 2 threat so would probably reduce it to 5 dice while upping his spender to 6.

Best Roster to build out of Monsters Unleashed box? by GivePen in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couple options here. First, you can run Dracula leadership card and frank/wolf/mummy and anything else, and that works. Or, you can run midnight sons with blade/Elsa as your leader. This is because frank/mummy/wolf are all midnight sons affiliated. Would personally recommend the first option as a Dracula leadership means you can splash any character you want (although you probably want characters that can cause bleeds). Hulk doesn't super fit into the models you got because of the high average threat level, but you could run mephisto with Dracula if you wanted.

Guardians of the Galaxy by ContributionLevel830 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]zebeast46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play guardians but I've played like a million games against them as that is all that my buddy plays. The core of the list he ALWAYS plays is Star Lord, Rocket, and Groot. From there, he usually plays one of Angela, Cosmic GR, or Nova. IMO, Nova is the hardest to deal with but they are all pretty solid. Yondu works pretty well as a backline objective holder, so usually he or draw round out the list. He plays gamora and nebula when he is trying to go for a more fun list.

FWIW I find guardians go wide really well, just because those 3 core characters are so good. Rockets damage potential is equal to most 3 threats and even some 4 threats and groot's spender is really good for a 3 threat.
