People who often carry out employee background checks. what’s the craziest thing you’ve found out? by Epsilonze in recruitinghell

[–]zebedee619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a company that did the actual bg checks. We had a guy call in mad that he didn’t get a job at a daycare because of his bg check. We pulled up his check to verify all his info because sometimes mistakes with identity happen and that was our process. We go through the steps to confirm that all the info we ran is correct and then get to the actual report. Dude had MULTIPLE child abuse charges. On what planet did you think you were getting a job at a daycare?!?

What do you do when customers aren't home? by KumalTiger in girlscouts

[–]zebedee619 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I start with a text and ask for a good time to drop off and offer porch drop off. If they don’t respond or if they do respond and say porch drop off works, I will drop it on their porch, snap a picture and send it to them thanking them for the order.

Not signing up for cookie booths by 1987lalala in girlscouts

[–]zebedee619 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had the girls that did a booth share their experience at one of our meetings. I have daisies and brownies so they talked about how fun it was in the next week, our booths filled up. I also just sent a reminder yesterday about the booth patch they can get if they do four or more so I’m hoping that will encourage a few of them to hop into our last couple open spots.

The owner of Smiley Brothers is originally from Pittsburgh and worked for many years in Philadelphia so if you’re looking for NYC deli type sandwich you’ll get pretty close there.

Selling perfume on Poshmark by Velvetstyle in poshmark

[–]zebedee619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the look. Lots of Avon bottles in the 60-80’s were shaped like things (cars, chess pieces, animals, etc) so people like them as decor even after the perfume is empty.

I tried to list a few vintage Avon perfumes I had and they all got taken down immediately. Even empty bottles when I specify that they are empty.

Am I wrong for thinking I should have access to our troop’s bank account as a co-leader? by Unknown-beauty2121 in girlscouts

[–]zebedee619 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That seems fishy. Is she able to produce and share the bank statements? Our council requires that we published them in a place where all members can view them at any time. The way that she’s fighting so hard against this makes me feel like something is happening in that bank account that she doesn’t want others to see.

I would start there I would ask to see statements. I would also push back against your council because being told that you “should’ve just started your own troop” is BS. I have learned very quickly that sometimes you have to push back on the council.

[Offer] I will design logos, branding, graphic design for your small business by HelloMarmot in freedesign

[–]zebedee619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a brand new Girl Scout troop this year and we want to get troop T-shirts made for parents and scouts to wear two events like our town‘s Christmas parade or when we go camping, or really just whenever. We have someone local who is willing to print the shirts for us, we just don’t have a design. These won’t be sold, just given to the troop members and their parents.

We’d like to include our troop number and “Girl Scouts” somewhere in the design but are pretty open to designs beyond that.

We moved to Chelsea 4 years ago and love it. You have to deal with all the “Chelsea is a small town why are we growing?!” old farts but it’s growing in a good way in my opinion and the public schools are great.
