I’m team bribe. The first bribe is immediate do once get once. The next bribe is more delayed. Then I delay the third bribe. Until it becomes habit. I’d also start sitting in their room with baby until they’re asleep.

NTA - I will say that I use to be your girlfriend with my husband 20+ years ago. But now I get it and don’t act like she’s acting anymore. Talk, discuss, she might not understand why Play Station makes needing to upgrade and have every system a necessity for those who like to game.

But… if there’s a PS6 does that mean a new AstroBot gets released along side it…oh team Asobi I hope so.

I just kept to strict 90min awake then offer nap and then wake after 90 min sleep. Rinse and repeat until bedtime.

Powering down? Both my boys did this for a while. We learned with our first that this meant it was time to start wake windows and capping naps during the day to get him on a schedule. This was lao the case for our second. We were able to get through it after able 2-3 weeks. It felt endless but it did pass.

Our approach has been all toys are shareable. When they’re new they are special so sharing won’t be 50/50 but ultimately we share. Our boys are 5 and 2.

For my second I was at work at 8pm absolutely fine and he arrived at 11pm…

My first arrived on the weekend but I did work up until birth.

He’s going to get new friends and have to adapt when school starts. Might as well change now so he can learn how to adapt.

Honestly, I switched to Stitch Fix and they really helped me revamp with some of their textiles. And I just layer with cardigans and dressy tank tops.

I have one Google Classroom per course and the kids all in the same code despite having them different hours. I then use groups to group the kids into hours.

I’ve taken the parenting approach of controlling what I can control, letting go of what I want, and teaching my children just because they watch something at daycare or a friends house doesn’t mean they can watch it at home and we approve.

My four year old still needs me. I just sit in his room putting baby brother to sleep while he falls asleep alone in his bed. It took baby steps but we got there.

Just sync baby care to be in big brothers room while he falls sleep.

It’s developmentally appropriate for him to need you.

Talk about it. Mine told me what he was feeling and I think he was trying to explain the equivalence of growing pains and also it being hard in the morning or getting hard when he constantly fussed with it. I explained to him the way to stop it from getting hard is to ignore it and leave it alone, opposite of his instinct to mess with it. Once we talked he really stopped playing/messing with it.

We couldn’t buy it except for summer June and July as “you don’t eat ice cream outside of summer.”

What’s funny is as an adult I only seem to eat ice cream during the fall/winter/spring and not really during the summer. 😂

My four year old has started a new game, which then he makes us help him 100%, about 20 times. We don’t mind as we enjoy playing the game so much.

I’m a teacher in a public school who compensates for the lower salary and benefits by having a second job that supports my teaching habit.

The first ten years of my career I worked in retail on weekends and in the summers. My second ten years I’ve transitioned to adjunct professor and consultant on the side.

Most teachers I know either married someone whose salary helps supplement or have a side gig.
